In some natter it was suggested The Flood from Halo are not an example, being more The Virus. I dropped that natter with the idea that they are both: They are described as "a species of highly virulent parasitic organisms that reproduce and grow by consuming sentient life forms of sufficient biomass and cognitive capability. The Flood was responsible for consuming most of the sentient life in the galaxy" — which could be this trope or The Virus. But I'm going with both.

I dispute Cherubimon from the Digimon movie, but want a second opinion. He's not reproducing in the traditional sense. These are explicitly weaker copies. This is closer to Doppelgänger Spin.
