From the YKTTW (but really should be mentioned in the description):
"The difference is Rainbow Pimp Gear is about a character wearing equipment from different armor sets. This is about one piece of attire."
Then why is it referred to as an "outfit"? The tropes are treading on each others clothes enough as it is without the names confusing the distinction. As it is, the one about clothing combinations is referred to as "gear" and the one referring to specific pieces of gear is called an "outfit".
Not quite the same, but there's a comicbook Thunderbunny, about a Billy Batson whose super-form is a big muscular wabbit. He's quite distressed when temporarily stuck in bunny form.
