Could we expand this trope to be about actual double dates? The current definition seems narrow and there's more than just the Harry/Sally style double date. Seems to me a double date is a trope for exploring that kind of baggage. And other kinds of baggage, like in How I Met Your Mother, the fact that Marshall and Lily get WAY intense about stuff, or sometimes one guy is hopelessly awkward and the other guy's the ace, or etc.
