I don't think so. This trope is as much about having to reassemble the MacGuffin as about dismantling it, so permanent destruction would be something else. I dunno if such trope exists already, ask on Lost And Found...

So I think we should remove the Lancelot magical sandals example from Disney comics, since it's a macguffin naturally destroyed by time, not an intentionally dismantled macguffin to reassemble. We can replace it with another example from Disney comics, The Search for the Zodiac Stone.

In Yugioh the millennium puzzle sort of fits this trope. Should it be added as an example?
Should this cover situations in which the macguffin is permanently dismantled or destroyed, or should it be covered by a separate trope?
