I think the mention of the "it beat 'Citizen Kane'" controversy in the opening is enough; the multiple repeats just beat the subject into the ground. Also, the tone makes it seem as though the winner that year was the worst movie before "Manos, the Hands of Fate" was made.

Or am I taking this too seriously?
