I checked the Slipknot Ponytail trope page to see if it had more detail, and it's been removed there on the grounds of not involving a fight or action scene.
Ok regarding this...
- Executive Meddling: Strangely, it was for the better. A first version of the film adaptation was completed in 1945 but its release was postponed. Meanwhile, Lauren Bacall's fame rose, and it was decided to make a revised version the following year, giving her character more prominence. This is the version that was released.
I'm curious, how? How was this better than the cut I read that (a. gives the killer ACTUAL SCREEN TIME and more development than a scrawny amount they had and made the reveal extremely arbitrary and (b. apparently had a scene midway through that helped explain some of the goings on and characters that get introduced and killed off five seconds later? Ok, I like Bacall and am all for giving her more screen time, but this just bugged me, especially if there is apparently a cut (which I read about but don't know if it can be seen at all?) that made this convoluted story make slightly more sense than before.
Removed from page:
No, not 'Nuff said. Is this really the proper trope? When yes, please elaborate what kind of fight or action scene this was.
