The first trope in mentions the comic:
- Adaptation Distillation: Based on the French graphic novel "Le Transperceneige".
Different topic - regarding Token Minority - I saw significantly more non-caucasian characters than were listed. I don't think this trope applies here.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Larkmam - depends on what you mean by 'named vs background' - there were a number of what I would call major-but-not-primary characters whose names I did not catch. There were a large number of Caucasian characters in both front and tail, but they weren't exclusively so (even leaving aside how the tail grime served to blur distinctions between different ethnic groups.) The use of 'Token Minority' implies that the minority character is a singular anomaly.
Regarding The Reveal :Gilliam was actually cooperating with Wilford all along, and made sure that a rebellion would take place every once in a while so that the population within the tail section wouldn't go out of control. Curtis' revolution was actually a calculated population cull that would have given those in the tail section more space and free access to water. Wilford wasn't happy that Gilliam couldn't keep Curtis under control. I'm not at all convinced that Gilliam was as much of an ally of Wilford as claimed in this statement. Should this be revised or shifted to YMMV?
How do you add a WMG page? My theory: Gilliam and Wilford wanted Edgar and Curtis to take their respective places—Edgar in the back, Curtis in the front, to maintain the population the way they've done all those years.

The basic premise sounds very similar to the old Amiga game Transarctica, which itself was based or at least inspired by another comic than the one this movie is inspired by.
And by the way, why is there no reference to the comic on this page?
