KaputExaltation modified the following entry from this:

  • Over whether Jack and Ashi should be paired up romantically or have a father/daughter relationship. The eighth episode (XCIX) finally confirms as a romantic relationship, breaking the base even further. There are three general groups: those who dislike the ship because they feel it came out of nowhere and/or aren't comfortable with the age and experience difference, those who like the ship because the believed it was foreshadowed properly since the first episode and/or believe that Jack deserves to be with someone after his unhappy love life (Ikra and the girl from his past come to mind), and those who don't care.

[[spoiler: It got much worse after the eighth episode (XCIX) confirmed their relationship to be a romantic one: the fact that Jack became canonically romanced with Ashi after a very large amount of obvious foreshadowing, generated irrational hatred of incredibly epic proportions from the LGBT fanbase, who went so far as to claim that the episode (and it's foreshadowing) was "thinly veiled homophobia" and "only done to maintain the patriarchal homophobic heteronormativity". You can't make this stuff up. Because of their sudden kiss at the end, many fans somehow see the relationship as being suddenly coming out of nowhere despite it building up from the first act and being heavily foreshadowed in the previous episodes, culminating in Jack's Naked First Impression while fighting the Lazarus monster.

I changed it back to the first entry, because the second one is obviously biased and is just attacking people and complaining about them having different views than the editor, and doesn't fairly represent both sides of the issue. However, the user in question has since changed it back.

I really think this is a no-brainer here. If you're describing the opposing side with terms like "irrational" and "Fan Dumb" you are obviously not interested in a fair discussion and just want to push your own opinion and attack anyone who disagrees with it. Moreover, it doesn't actually add anything to the entry itself, as the actual Base Breaking issue is still described only by the first three sentences. But for the sake of avoiding an Edit War, I would like moderator permission to restore the original post.
