Should mention this is Cuties.

Death of the Author is a shoehorn anyway, unless the author has publicly stated what their intended message was. Also redundant, since the YMMV page makes exactly the same point in several different tropes.

For the record, there are vides of the director explaining her intent so maybe Death of the Author could be something, but right not it's clearly written to push a bias against the movie.
