Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

We've actually started a cleanup for a similar issue- web video creators whose YMMV pages trope their in-universe opinions. So it stands to reason fanfics would be the same way, and thus would need their examples moved to the main page as in-universe ones.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness"This adaptation portrays a character differently" isn't an in-universe example of Alternate Character Interpretation anyway — an in-universe example would be "in-universe characters have differing opinions on a character from an in-universe work".
You're looking for something like Adaptational Personality Change.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.
I see fan works put the authors take on characters as Alternate Character Interpretation. But if that’s intentional, is that not a YMMV? What about Fanon (when they apply their personal headcanon as opposed to one widespread within the fandom)?
It’s a common thing to apply to fan works as they are written as a result of fans audience reactions. But is it appropriate? I’d say not but want to check before cleaning anything up. Should YMMV for fanworks only apply to the reaction of the readers?
