Because it gets linked to — some anime is still in the main namespace, and we can't expect editors to remember which is which. In fact, of the 93 links to that page, 90 go to the Main/ version.
(If there were some other version, the Main/ page would be a disambiguation, not a redirect.)

Why does The Castle Of Cagliostro have a main page button that redirects back to the anime page? Is there a version of Cagliostro that's not anime?
