Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Sponsors have the ability to nuke their draft no matter how many bombs are on it, or how long it's been up. However, that's only a sponsor privilege- anyone else has to have 5 bombs and wait 3 days for the option to appear.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOk thanks
Ok, so Kaoru Futami is a newbie in TLP. He obviously wrote the draft with best intentions and tries to work on it. He keeps tweaking the description and responds to comments. The draft collected many bombs, very undeservedly IMO, and it feels terribly unkind. No one mentions their reason for bombing the draft. (Now, I'm not absolutely sure it's tropeworthy but this bombing is too fast.)
I think it's possible to lock adding bombs/hats on the TLP draft. Perhaps it could be done in this case?
Edited by XFlloThe main issue is that clothing tropes need to be expressing some kind of pattern or significance in their use other than "characters that wear x clothing"
For example, Goofy Print Underwear is a trope because boxer shorts with some kind of goofy design printed on them (most commonly hearts) are a go-to way to telegraph that a male wardrobe malfunction or case of "getting caught with his pants down" is being played for laughs.
O Ps trope doesn't clearly convey the significance of the underwear choice.
^ I'm perfectly aware of the policy for clothing and personal appearance tropes. And I said something of this sort in the discussion of the draft.
However, this behaviour really is not welcoming to new editors.
Unfortunately, I don't believe there's a way to lock adding bombs/hats, or if there is, I'm not aware of it. We're gnashing our teeth over how broken the system is, too.
At my Hats and Bombs thread, everyone seemed to agree that it'd be good if for the first three days, nobody could add hats or bombs, and then a draft could be voted on after those days were up. It'd force people to take their time and give constructive criticism first, and it'd also force sponsors to take their time.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness^^ Thanks for the reply. I must have confused it with something, probably with putting a draft on hold (which I know has been done for some drafts).
I'm glad to hear that the mod team is not happy about TLP system either. Hopefully the development will catch up with some of our ideas for improvements.

I submitted a new trope and saw that “enough” tropers had voted to not publish it - even though I saw no votes displayed on it all. What’s happening there? Edit: I believe I misread the situation; what I saw simply means that currently my trope does not have the necessary Hats to be published: it’s a default message that is pretty indirect according to what I’m used to. I’ll keep this up in case I am wrong with that postulation/assumption... in which case someone please correct me.
