It depends: if it's a recent addition, the trope can be unlaunched and sent back to TLP. If it has been up for some time, it requires a discussion in Trope Repair Shop. Renaming tropes requires consensus, though. One person, even if it's the trope's original sponsor, can't make this decision alone. People in TLP or TRS should agree on its title; always.
Your new idea could also be made into a redirect. (See Creating New Redirects, though the policy is in some ways outdated.)

As Xfilo wrote, this requires a Trope Repair Shop decision. But renaming a trope requires evidence that the name causes problems. ”It sounds better” will probably not be enough for the TRS.
The current name is better than the suggested one. It's a lot clearer.

^ Once it's launched, it's launched. Trying to come up with a better name is a job for Trope Launch Pad. :-) The name is not bad. The trope's cross-wicked. I'd say let it go. (You can ask moderators for a redirect but I don't think it's needed.)
