Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Don't zap without considering context. If it's a badly worded way to refer to only one or two works, rewrite it.
As RallyBot said, the type of general example that lumps multiple works on one bullet point could potentially be split into multiple proper examples. The general examples that are completely forbidden are ones that make broad statements about an entire type of work without mentioning specific works; at best, those can be integrated into the description or an Analysis page, but they don't belong in example lists.

Just to double-check since I've not been active in editing for a while now, "generic" examples are to be zapped on sight, even if there's an entire section of them, right?
I'm asking primarily based on The film section of Just Here for Godzilla (also, now that I look closer, Live-Action TV as well).
