I've been here too long. Regretting choosing this screenname ten years ago.
It's sort of The Tease, except usually she doesn't give them even that much. She's pretty and they all enjoy their fantasy they have a chance with her (they don't), so she can string them along more or less effortlessly.
It's heavily implied that this would never work except that her suitors are... kinda dumb. She usually has the audience's sympathy, since everyone can see she won't give the boys a thing, hasn't actually promised them a thing, and they can always walk away — but they still worship her because she might promise them something.
Trope for a female character, not The Vamp or Femme Fatale, who is pretty and flirts with men to get whatever she wants from them but never promises (or delivers) anything more? She's never evil, just socially savvy and opportunistic. Think Quinn on Daria.
