Nuclear Candle is when any in-universe light source illuminates a far greater area than it would in reality. Photoflood Lighting is a specific hallmark of cheap films where scenes that should have more intimate, subdued lighting end up looking stark because the technicians just replaced the on-set lightbulbs with brighter ones instead of setting up proper lighting effects.
