Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Pretty unpopular opinion here but I think at best? You could PM the troper to expand the entry or if someone knew the work, they could contribute to expand the entry. If the people who made that didn't respond, I'm all for a cut. That's my two cents
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Whenever I come across those, I just comment them out.
The FE Tellius character pages are a mess. Comment them out.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Since the Tellius games have the same characters, should all the characters be merged onto a single Fire Emblem Tellius characters page rather than separate Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn character pages? I know that each FE installment has their own Characters page on this wiki but I think we can make an exception with the Tellius games. If the Erebonia Arc and others have a single character page that includes characters from direct-sequel games, I don't see why we can't do that for Tellius.
(Thracia and Genealogy don't count as the former mainly focuses on a much different cast throughout the entire game).
Edited by BZL8I commented out the Path of Radiance folder, but if I did the same for the Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn Minor Antagonists page we'd be left with only 6 characters, of which only Alder and Septimus have more than 2 tropes to them. Should we just cut the page altogether and add those two to the Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn Major Antagoinsts page, and then change it to just "Radiant Dawn Antagonists"?
Edited by mrbitsThere is nothing inherently wrong with placeholder entries for characters, as long as the examples that are present are written correctly. Ideally, one would hide them from casual view, such as in folders or with comment markup, encouraging users to expand them.
I have occasionally seen issues like the one described above, where people will put a huge amount of effort into diagramming and making subpages for characters without populating them. This is ambitious, but from a best-practices perspective we should only split articles when they actually become too large, not just because they might.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The current state of Radiant Dawn info on Path of Radiance character pages can't stay. I'd support merging the Tellius pages for that reason.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.^ The pages were in fact merged at one time, and considering how some of them are named, they were never fully unmerged. Considering the two games are so closely connected, a rename to "Fire Emblem Tellius - Greil Mercenaries", etc. makes sense.
(See also how the Archanea games have character pages depending solely on game of origin, but for the characters who debuted in FE1, their appearances in FE3 and its remake are also recorded on that page.)
Merging characters pages for a franchise with strong continuity across works is entirely reasonable.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Is the general consensus to reorganize/merge the Tellius characters page? We can bump the Split and Reorganize the Fire Emblem Pages thread on the Short-Term Projects page if so.
It will barely take any work, so bringing the STP thread back probably isn't required.
The page Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance - Antagonists has character folders (Emil, Kotaff, Kayachey, Homasa, Kimmarsi) that are outright blank and don't have any tropes associated with them. Should they be cut?
Similarly, Fire Emblem Tellius Minor Radiant Dawn Antagonists has tons of entries that are just character names and one sentence descriptions, without any tropes.
