Fool , Jerk and Hypocrite with no example in the show itself. That seems a bit much. The example seems invalid to me. I mean all the Runaways have had shades of anti-hero but definately have taken no action extreme enough to be Designated Hero. If the troper put it back without discussion then its an edit war plain and simple. Especially if there was no discussion. Also while YMMV is subjective what is not subjective is that the trope MUST apply to matter. It does not, in any way.
Add, delete, re-add. It's not a "slight" edit war; it is an Edit War.
Have you invited them to discussion?
PM'd them back about the discussion here now.

Fool: He was loyal to Darius even though this man had every reason to sell him out and wasnt subtle about his intention to do so (ie, blackmailing Alex with the gun covered in his fingerprints). Hypocrite: wanting to rescue his own father while saying to hell with Leslie. Jerk: Throwing a hissy fit when he was outvoted on that matter. As for the other kids, Nico was possessed when she killed AWOL and his goons. Yes she intended to kill Jonas but he had it coming and didn't stay dead anyway. As for Karolina seeing Jonas vehind everyone's back, i was forgiving of that because she's half-alien and he was the only one who could tell her about her powers and origin. But even then, it was clear that she never trusted him. The only one whose behavior wasnt justifiable was Alex.
...Because Jeb Bush is all in my house with disease.Being loyal does not make him a fool. Him rescuing his father was only to have him arrested later, as he was always about punishing their parents not killing them. Giving Leslie a place to hide is not punishing. So not a hypocrite. Also it takes more then disagreeing with a vote to be a jerk. Loyal is not a fool. Hypocrite is saying one thing but doing actions counter to that. He saved his father from death but punished both his parents for their actions. Not a hypocrite. Also disagreeing with a vote is not a "hissy" fit. You also lump that action with multiple murder but excuse that easily, so thats a bit bias. Also the trope does not apply on multiple levels, and in doing so is invalid. YMMV is for valid tropes not tropes you shoe horn to fit your own personal dislike.
"Designated Hero" means we're supposed to root for a hero despite his actions, and thats how Alex comes across. Just because you personally disagree with my usage doesnt invalidate it. Thats what YMMV means.
...Because Jeb Bush is all in my house with disease. All in all that sounds pretty subjective. I could think of plenty of reasons to justify his behaviour (like Darius, despite how bad he might have been, still being MURDERED). Also, the incidents mentioned weren't even the only ones. Plus, the most important thing is: The story never treats him as especially bad. At one point he even calls out the other kids on THEIR hypocrisy and they concede the point. Also, as Tuvok said, YMMV or not, the trope must apply. You can't just label anybody like that because it is YMMV. And the Runaways are all morally ambiguous throughout the season.

You used three terms , Fool. That could apply to any of the Runaways for their choices. But you use Alex an example as the ONLY reason. Hypocrite, when saying to act one way but acting the same way. Alex saved his father but was always planning to punish him. He has always been about punishing them and has not acted counter to that. Jerk, strong term but invalid because ALL the Runaways have have shades of anti-hero but no real indication of being jerks.
Also while YMMV is subjective, it still has to be a valid example. Designated Hero is not a valid example as stated with multiple reasons.
Alright.
...Because Jeb Bush is all in my house with disease. What about the Edit War that just happened?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I'll open up a discussion on the page in question and see if anybody else wants to say something before it gets deleted.

So Troper Desert Dragon put up a Designated Hero entry on the YMMV page of Marvel'´s runaways. I deleted it because I don't really think that applies. Not just because of my own opinion (what he thinks), but because pretty much every Runaway in that season has done their own share of morally ambiguous things that the rest of the group disagreed with (heck, Nico even killed several people) and is called out in-universe, respectively. Alex is not singled out as in any way particularly bad.
The troper however put it back up. How should we proceed?
(Ironically, a similar topic was started over myself recently^^)
