When a character is not using their established ability when it could have been useful.
Alice is established to have the ability to revive the dead at will, and can do this with no drawback.
But at one point in the story, Bob died, and Alice was right there, and instead of making up reason like "Alice can heal dying people, not dead people."or "In order for Bob to be revived there are certain condition that needs to be fulfilled."or "Alice's revive ability actually shorten her own lifespan.", creator just make it so that no one in the setting ever just says:"Hey, Alice, can't you just revive Bob?"
