Coincidental Accidental Disguise?
If not for this anchor I'd be dancing between the stars. At least I can try to write better vampire stories than Twilight.
Is there a trope where a character assumes that they themselves or someone they know is a supernatural being? Similar to Fake Rip Van Winkle, this is a situation where someone mistakes an event for happening when in fact it did not. For example, in the Spongebob episode "Krab Borg" the title character believes Mr. Krabs to be a robot after watching a movie and a series of coincidences. In Phineas and Ferb episode "The Curse of Candace" similar to "Krab Borg" has the character Candace believe she has become a vampire after a movie, an encounter with a vampire bat, and a set of coincidences. And to name one more example, in American Dad episode "Fiances with Wolves" again like the previos example, after a movie, encounter with a wolf, and set of coincidences, the character Steve believes himself to be a werewolf.
