Ensemble Dark Horse is about "minor characters that become popular despite not contributing much to the main narrative", not "any popular character other than the protagonist."

But she just said they are MAJOR characters not MINOR characters!

Question: were they always major characters or did they start out minor and gain not importance alongside their popularity?

They were always major, getting focus in each of their respective arcs and having continued roles beyond their introductions. Characters.Sonic The Hedgehog IDW has sections for them, but none for the background character that became a hit.

Ensemble Dark Horse is starting to confuse me because im thinking ots minor aren't always there and that Main characters and Supporting character dont count but supporring characters still count.
