I'd say yes, but more importantly: at its core, Cyberspace is basically a kind of Another Dimension (another world) inside some kind of (computer) system.

But we wouldn't say that Warlords of Ka'a are another world inside of The Big Bang Theory; we would call it a Collectible Card Game.

I'm looking for the trope that describes Virtual Reality as a medium for immersive story-telling, and right now it's a redirect to Cyberspace.

Virtual reality is Cyberspace in that the latter is, well, a world of its own that is virtual.

However, the term "VR" can also refer to a simulation of a single place, i.e not a "separate world" in a sense. I hope I explained it well enough.

This is a medium of story-telling, not a "separate world". Is this an example of Cyberspace?

  • Dreams, Inc. is a company that makes "dreamies", a type of movie where the audience gets to sense taste, touch, and scent in addition to sound and sight. The name itself is a reference to "talkies", an old nickname for movies. Jesse Weill owns the company and we see several different meetings about the behind-the-scenes creating and operation of dream story-telling.

^ - Not Cyberspace as it's not a representation of an electrical system of some kind.

"a representation of an electrical system of some kind" — that sounds more like Inside a Computer System than Cyberspace.

The thing you described sounds like "Augmented Reality".

Why does it remind you of Augmented Reality?
