I would say inside because of the link box appearing after the external link causing a very large, filled, gap between text and punctuation

I think the rule is first-come, first-served, and be consistent within the example.

We don't have a formal style rule about this. I generally try to put punctuation outside the links.

On spoilers I usually put punctuation outside unless the whole entry is spoiled out. I generally follow the same rule for links.

"Come on! Let's get this show on the road."
