Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Nope, it should not be done that way. Plot tropes in general should go in the main (or recap) pages, not in characters pages.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm gonna go on a purge then, excuse me

Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI have question, which page should I cite when purging plot trope from characters sheet?
You can link back to this thread, Fighteer's reply. :)
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettGot it, started working...
...Just working on a SCP Foundation characters sheet, and with this "no plot trope" guideline the erroneous nature become clear. One entry talk about some..."thing", but every tropes associate with it is about another character interact with it.
I will leave a note on the work's character sheets index that Recap should work better.
To be honest, I don't think this is a very good idea. For a lot of tropes, the line between them being categorized as "plot" or "character" can be pretty sketchy. Also, a lot of works (i.e., the SCP Foundation) don't have Recap pages for those tropes to be moved to and their main pages aren't big enough or written to be designed to host examples for certain characters that are defined as "plot" tropes.
Holy Necro, Batman!
...Seriously though, you could've just started a Wiki Talk thread or somethin'.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThere are also cases of something that happened in a certain, specific episode, but became a relevant thing about the character from then on. Or a trait that is usually suggested, and then expanded and placed in focus in a specific episode. Those may be relevant to be mentioned on the character page.
Of course, the wording of the trope description would not be a cut-and-paste case. Recap pages should focus on the event of the episode, and character pages should focus on the character's overall arc as a whole.
Ultimate Secret WarsI agree with Where Am I 101 A and Grigor II. Also there is a thread on the forum about character and plot tropes, I think it is better to discuss the matter there. As far as I remember, the opposite conclusion re one-off events was reached there (ie FaceāHeel Turn is an one-off event but it is ok to list on character pages etc).

I feel there is no agreement on the issue and it warrants a larger discussion than just a single ATT thread
So when a series airs its episode, Tropers rush to fill the Character pages by listing the events that happened during that particular episode. For example, during episode X the character A gets captured despite being shown as a Badass and never gets captured during the rest of the series, In this case should the character page list "Badass In Distress" as Character A's Character trope? I don't think that that's how Charcater page is supposed to be used, but still asking because I'm seeing an increasing trend towards such practices.
