Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

This actually came up the other day over at this ATT report.
It was agreed that titles that are listed in full can be abbreviated on subsequent mentions.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meMyFinalEdits, apologies if this has been some sort of an annoying recurrence for you.
But again, there are no particular issues with using redirects for any sort of work, even for Zelda. The related pages showcases all total number of pages using normal and redirect links which is something we discussed not too long ago.
On Administrivia. How To Write An Example it states "If you've already used the full name of the work in your entry, you can abbreviate it on subsequent uses, e.g. Order of the Phoenix for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Edited by TheTropper Your receipt. You can keep the freakin' change.I think you're misunderstanding the message of that page. It says you can abbreviate a work's name after it was named in full once. But all the Zelda games in those pages are mentioned once each to begin with, without a second mention thereof.
Also, I hate to say this, but you're actually wrong about the link listing in the redirect tab. You said once that all redirects' wicks are also included inside the parent name's Related tab, but this is false: In fact, I learned this the hard way. I was doing crosswicking stuff regarding Assault Suits Valken, and in one such instance I added an example of Bowdlerise both there and in the Bowdlerise.Video Games subpage. However, it turns out the latter page already had an example of the game, only listed under the Cybernator redirect, and another troper had deleted it because I had added a duplicate (it should have been the other way around, so I had to restore that example's original writeup and revert mine afterwards). And no, that Bowdlerise example was NOT listed in the ASV Related tab, because the wick was for the Cybernator redirect.
I had been taking a break from the wiki to take a rest after editing extensively, and when I come back I see this. Please do not continue shortening work names by using redirects as replacement; first, because what you're saying about them and their wicks isn't true; and second, because you're misinterpreting what that Administrivia page says.

Go ahead and revert anything that hasn't already been reverted.

The Tropper has edited several pages to shorten work names in examples by replacing them with redirects, most frequently The Legend of Zelda names. This not only makes it harder to search for examples on the games in question, but makes finding examples via their associated Related tabs much harder. In the past, I had asked them not to do this and they complied... only to do it once again now. I have reverted here (specifically the Zelda examples, whereas another troper reverted the Elder Scrolls ones) and here. But there's also this one, this one (reverted by Theriocephalus already), and this one (also reverted by Therio).
I'll go ahead and revert the remaining example, but it's evident that this troper is misusing the redirects. They're used to assist searching, not to deliberately replace the intended names of the parent tropes and works.
EDIT: Typo fix.
