The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
Currently covered by Expressive Hair.
Expressive Hair doesn't fit because that means a character whose hair is expressive. But what I mean is for when the "hair on end" is emphasizes some emotion for a normal character without magic hair.
I don't think you read the trope correctly. It's not about fantastic implications and rather about how hair can be used to express a character's mood. That said, I can see this being split off into its own subtrope.
Thanks, I think you're right. But for the record, I think that the Expressive Hair trope is confusing. The long description sounds like a character trait, and the Laconic sounds like any mood change. Apples and oranges.
Never assume the laconic description is the full or accurate description. They are so often misleading we have a whole cleanup thread for them.
"Hair stands on End" is a common expression, so I thought it'd be a trope. But I can't find it among the Hair tropes index, etc... None of the existing tropes fit.
Expressive Hair doesn't fit because that means a character whose hair is expressive. But what I mean is for when the "hair on end" is emphasizes some emotion for a normal character without magic hair. I mean a surreal emphasized reaction not a character trait.
