Deleted the recap page Natter regarding their wonk against the Read parents.

A second look at their edit history also shows misuse of indentation and deleting examples without giving a reason why. They resumed their continuous misuse of the Unintentionally Unsympathetic trope only the month after they were sent a notifier by a mod (with an example that was self-admitted misuse, no less).

And nearly a week after I made this query, they're still shoehorning in Unintentionally Unsympathetic examples and using incorrect indentation (on this page, specifically).

Looks they already received two indentation notifiers and those notifiers are the only they have had for that. Their last edit was on the 24th so I'll wait until they edit again.

As for the shoehorning of Unintentionally Unsympaththetic, it doesn't seem like anyone has messaged them about that. I know there's not a trope misuse notifier but I can't expect to know they have been using the trope incorrectly if no one told them that.

There actually is a trope misuse notifier (albeit it's probably a new one). So I'll send them one for the edit I brought up in my initial post.

Sigh...nothing's changed. They replied to my PM to say they thought their Unintentionally Unsympathetic examples were fine because they're pointing out a character's negative behavior (even though that's not entirely what the trope is supposed to be about). They also added another example around the same time (of the "The audience is supposed to see this character as well-meaning, but some people find it hard to sympathize with them because of this one action" variety).

That Alvin and the Chipmunks one may be an edit war, as I think they added an Unintentionally Unsympathetic example to that page here.

^ I think this is the correct link.

I'm not even sure how true it is. Feels like a personal gripe. I don't remember Dave being "cruel" to the chipmunks, but it's been a while since I've watched the movie. I do remember though that the chipmunks were running around being chaotic and he has a change of heart I think anyway, so I don't think we're even supposed to see Dave as being in the right.

So should the Chipmunks entry be removed? What about their other examples?

The examples that are misusednote  and/or are nitpicks that were only added in to complain about a certain character can go. Also, if an example is full of Weasel Words (i.e. "some people may find it a bit difficult to sympathize with this character because...) can be removed on sight for being shoehorns. And a character "having a point" or "being sided with in an argument" is not the same thing as being sympathetic.

With all this in mind, I think the majority of their examples can be cut (at least half of them for Weasel Words alone).
