I tried googling some paragraphs, and oddly I got some comments on random articles that claim to quote the books themselves ... so maybe they're plagiarizing the book?

Yeah, that's not even a recap, it's damn near close to the book itself. I would just cut that whole section personally.

Considering some of these appear in Quote/ pages for tropes, I think these are indeed copied from books.

I think there's enough basis to cut The Secret Blueprints sections, so I'll wait a day if someone wants to say anything and go ahead with it.

Now remember, This book is meant for all of the loyal fans who have been wondering about the mysterious "new project" that we have been dropping hints about for the last six years, and for everyone else out there with a great love of picky details. We don't want you getting all nervous and thinking that if you don't read this book you won’t know what is going on in the comic, and we promise that we won’t ever test you on it. Unless we think it would be funny.

... yeah, this is absolutely plagiarized.

I've read enough comic piblishers' blogs and releases to feel confident that this was written by an insider at a published title. The conversational tone is the same.
