Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.

For starters, both you and Tropers/souseiseki90 are edit warring, and you are using edit reasons to argue with each other instead of PMs, the discussion tab or a query here at ATT.
For something this nitpicky, might I suggest the Is this an example? thread or perhaps one of the media fora dedicated to all things Pokemon.
Edited by laserviking42 I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meI am seeking to avoid edit warring, and did not see that we were at risk of that until souseiseki90 restored their prior edits, hence why I came here. That said, I will take a look. Thank you.
The OP has made another query here, but I think discussion can continue fine here since this one has all the info.
Souseiseki 90 is edit warring regardless, so I'll issue a suspension for that. Psytrainer hasn't technically edit warred; their second touch of the example is to fix grammar and formatting, which is fine by our rules.
The example as it is now (separate bullet points for Masters and Evolution) is OK. I agree it's not a Downplayed Trope example. They are different canons with two different 'straight' examples; that doesn't make it a downplayed example as a whole. However, it's very much a story trope, not a character trope, so my move would be to just put two separate entries on Pokémon Masters and Pokémon Evolutions (assuming there aren't already entries) rather than put them on a character sheet.
Edited by SynchronicityOk. I will go ahead and do that. I apologize for my impatience.
I have been having a disagreement with another Troper concerning an example of Cutting Off the Branches. This is the current entry that is under the character page for Pokemon Protagonists and Rivals: Sinnoh.
"Cutting Off the Branches: Downplayed, due to the established Pokémon multiverse. Masters establishes that Dawn is the protagonist of the Sinnoh games, with her and Barry being childhood friends while Lucas is explicitly stated to be Professor Rowan's assistant. Despite this, Lucas still appears as the protagonist of Sinnoh games in Pokemon Evolution."
I had put the entry up initially while the editor added the first and third sentences. The point of contention for me is them not only calling it a downplayed example simply due to the multiverse's existence, something I feel is not enough, but also the fact that they support this through pointing out how a game adaptation, as opposed to an actual parallel universe, portrays the other player character as the protagonist. When I stated this while editing, they restored their changes while stating that adaptations do count as their own universes. I have every intention to message them, but first I would like some input on how much of the Troper's edits and argument hold water so that I may be able to compromise with them. Thank you.
