If you are talking about layered armor, then yes. However, it doesn't seem like there are many layered armor options at the moment.

More will probably be released as the game updates with more quests.

Am I missing something with the wire bug? I thought it was supposed to let us scale walls but I kind of just ping pong off them a bunch while I wait for my uses to recharge. Do I have to do something else once I make contact with the wall to avoid jumping off right away?

You can hold R to extend your wall run but it costs stamina.

Yeah, as long as you have a decent amount of max stamina, you can climb pretty much every wall, no matter how high.

First, wirebug into the wall, and hold R and up to start wallrunning upwards. When your stamina runs out, jump off and hold A to hang in mid-air. Wait for your stamina to recover, and wirebug into the wall once more for another round of wallrunning. Repeat until you reach Mars.

D'oh. Going to try that next time I boot up the game. I knew I was missing something.

So I've played a couple games online. How does the monster scaling work when I am online?

In Rise, it depends on how many players are in the mission. It's supposed to change on the fly as players join and leave.

Hub missions typically have stronger monsters than Village missions, so even playing solo will take a bit longer than a Village mission.

So the layered armors are locked behind amiibos and deluxe version. That's just fantastic, Capcom.

Are those the only ones available at the moment? I expected others to come in time.

I assume they'll be adding more options for layered armor later on. Iceborne allowed you to create layered versions of all of the normal armor sets in World, plus you got a free layered set when you started Iceborne.

The basic ninja getup, which is my favorite so far, is locked behind the deluxe version

It might require end game materials to make layered armor, that's how Iceborne was. 95% of the layered armor required materials from the Guiding Lands.

Keep in mind that World only had Layered Armor as part of DLC and preorder bonus originally too, and then it was added in with one of the updates

we're more than likely going to be getting layered armor in Rise in the future too

I got all 10 relic records for both the Flooded Forest and the Lava Caverns.

I also finally forged a complete Magnamalo armor set due to helping randoms out with the "Hellfire" hub mission.

I'm still far from fighting the cover monster. I've just started doing Lv.4 village quests and Lv.2 hub quests. My weapons are still doing less than 10 damage per hit.

So I'm just about to do the first rampage siege, at the end of 3-star I guess. Are the monsters weaker than usual? Because I highly doubt I'll manage to fight more than one at once if they aren't tripping over each other.

The ballistae should be stronger than your weapons at this point, and the monsters will give up on attacking the gate sooner than they die. Sometimes there is a morale call that makes all hunters deal 5x damage.

I'm currently working on lvl 6 village quests. Currently farming Tigrex for his scalp so I can craft its armour set. It's about time I upgraded my armour (currently running around in a Rathian set), and Bludgeoner seems like a good skill to have right about now, since almost all my weapons max out at green sharpness.

Of course, the desire sensor kicked in, and I still got no scalp after six runs. Once it does, however, I'm finally going to do that Special License quest, and hop onto multiplayer. Kinda nervous about that. I got some anxiety about playing with strangers, so I usually get stuck in perpetual preparation because of overthinking.

Does anyone here have strong opinions on what Petalace to use? Because I've been running Demon ever since I was allowed to choose, and I can't really see the point of the others, since Dango sets your health and stamina to 150 anyway.

EDIT: finally got the Tigrex scalp, and the armour that goes with it. Turns out, when you upgrade it to the max, each piece only has two points more defence than the maxed out Rathian set. This is highly disappointing.

Just beat Magnamalo. I used 7 mega potions and it threw me back to camp twice, but I captured it. Now I guess I'll farm tickets to get the Miko outfit.

Did the first Apex Rampage today. Good lord, that was much more tense than I thought it would be. That Arzuros had way more hit points than it had any right to have, and bowled through the defences with ridiculous ease. If I hadn't remembered at the last minute that the Wyvernsplitter canon was a thing, then we might have actually lost that one. Makes me nervous about what happens when something other than an overly ambitious teddybear decides to show up.

Did some multiplayer hunts through join requests as well. Having four people hammer down a Great Izuchi sure makes for a chaotic experience. Amusing for a bit, but I'm looking forwards to working on bigger monsters soon, if only so there's a small chance I won't get constantly tripped by jackasses with longswords.

[up][up]I feel you. I just did the Apex Arzuros mission as well, and while I didn't manage to kill it (I was doing the mission solo), I did hold out long enough for it to be repelled.

Definitely felt like I was fighting a Redhelm Arzuros from Generations Ultimate.

EDIT: Just did another Apex Arzuros mission, this time with online players, and we managed to kill the blasted thing.

Man, I still have to finish Generations Ultimate. Luckily, I'm finally wrapping up much of my gaming backlog. Tonight I've just finished World of Light (the climax was long, I'll provide more details in the Recent Achievements thread since it's spoiler material). Right now I'm in the first champer of high rank (7 Stars), I'll resume progress after I conclude Astral Chain. I really need to farm an S armor, because even the likes of Congalala and Great Maccao are giving me hell in high rank. Any advice on which early S armor is best?

Am I the only one who hates the roar mechanic? It does nothing except wasting a few seconds of my time or unexpectedly screwing up my combo.

You can roll or use other moves with i-frames to avoid being stunned by roars, but the timing is tricky to learn.

But no, you're not the only person who is not a fan. It and the Earplugs skill have an entry under Broken Base on YMMV.Monster Hunter World.
