Still better than the gathering quests
... And that's called jazz! This is forgivable. They’re cute and they get very happy when you pet them.
Meanwhile, I have hit the first tempered quests of World.
Bezelguese was rather annoying to deal with, but I finished him. Eventually. Now to farm for gems that aren't nigh irrelevant!
So what weapons, aside from Bow, Sn S, SA, and DB, are good with elements?
See, I just defeated my second Alatreon, and I have enough materials to make his GS, LS, Hammer, Lance, SA, IG, and Bow (I also have his Sn S and HBG unlocked, but no webbing to make them).
I’m debating which weapon I should forge. Any words of wisdom?
So what weapons, aside from Bow, SnS, SA, and DB, are good with elements?
That's literally it, and even then SA doesn't need element. That said it's always good to have element than not have element, unless you're running a set that boosts the fuck outta raw damage.
The "issue" with elemental damage is that it really only gets usage out of weapons that hit a lot really quickly, otherwise the additional damage really isn't enough to matter that much.
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeIs the Black Lute a good Hunting Horn?
The Horn is a weapon I’d really like to learn how to use.
Also, do HH melodies fade if you play a new one? I thought that was the point of double notes; plays a new song while keeping the old ones going.

"G4"? How many G chapters are in XX's G Rank?!
I thought all G expansions had three at most (at least that was the number in Freedom Unite, 3 Ultimate and 4 Ultimate).
EDIT: So there are 4. Man, I can't wait to play this game; it's gonna be really long!

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Anybody have an answer to my question about the HH?
It's the least played weapon in the series, and prior to World they're really unwieldy and difficult to grasp unless you do a lot of research and know exactly what sort of songs your weapons' note colors provide. Best thing I can tell you if you want to get into one in Generations Ultimate is to find a good guide for each one or a discord or something.
The buffs provided are a core part of each hunting horn, though, and other than the general purpose ones that stack with everything like attack, defense, and health recovery boosts, what constitutes a good hunting horn for you - aside from all the usual stuff like elements, affinity, attack power and sharpness levels - is rather or not the buffs provided complement your build and/or if you plan to play in groups or solo all the time.
The Hunting Horn is one of the most complex weapons to master in the series, almost to the point of Difficult, but Awesome. It's slow, so you gotta have a good grasp of positioning and timing, plus you have one extra mechanic to worry about (the song combos). However, it has built-in Mind's Eye and can provide amazing support by stunning monsters and applying buffs. I mean, HH mains (but not "Corner Horners") are often very welcome in a party.
... And that's called jazz!I still don’t know if playing a new song cancels the old ones... again, I thought that was the point of double notes.
It doesn't. Most songs stack unless they're redundant afaik.
... And that's called jazz!So I know about the universal skills for success like Handicraft, Expert, Evasion and Evade Distance.
Is there anything that helps specifically with Hunting Horns, besides Maestro?
Handicraft is not exactly mandatory in Gen, what with needing +2 to be worth it in general. Even in MHGU, when it can be reasonably fit into good sets, you have alternatives to that. You'd rather stay just with Razor Sharp sharpness and invest in Attack or do the crit meta, in my opinion.
... And that's called jazz! What exactly does Weakness Exploit do?
Also, I literally only know the weak points of like four monsters, and it’s the head for all of them.
Increases damage done when you exploit weaknesses, I'm assuming. So more damage from using the right element or hitting the right body part.
So for you Generations Ultimate players, which of the new Deviants do you like the most (assuming you fought them)?
Personally, I've only fought Soulseer Mizutsune and Elderfrost Gammoth so far, so I don't really have a big pool to choose from. I like the Soulseer fights more than the Elderfrost fights so far, though I'm dreading the Bloodbath Diablos fights.
Weakness Exploit skyrockets your Affinity by 50% when you hit a weakpoint. It has become a staple in most offensive sets and a crucial skill in crit-heavy sets (except those that work with Critical Draw, of course).
Oh, and more often than not, a monster has more than just one weakpoint: they usually have a "weakest" spot and "second weakest" parts that also trigger the skill. I dunno the actual values, but I'm pretty sure a part that, for example, takes 40-50 damage from cutting will proc WE if you go at it with a cutting weapon.
... And that's called jazz!Okay, so... the weak points I know are Deviljho (chin), Uragaan (chin after breaking), Rathian (head), Rathalos (also head), and Duramboros (hump). Most of the time I just go for the head because that’s what I expect the weak point to be.
Heads are usually weak points, as are tails or wings. Sometimes stomachs.
Is it just me, or is Zamtrios gear really good?
Not only do the weapons look badass, but they’re all fairly powerful with great ice damage. Not too shabby, the way I see it!
I love Zamtrios armor. It looks so badass.
Whoo, just beat Tempered Kirin for the first time. And Jeez, was that guy annoying.
So with Hurricane Florence barreling in and me worried about my friend in NC, I decided to slay Amatsu in the superstitious hope that would do something.
EDIT: ...apparently God accepts prayers in the form of slain Amatsu, because my friend said that it stopped raining after I killed the thing.
