YuGiOh 5ds

Since the two other threads are so far behind I felt like sayingfuck it and make a new one as to not have to bump the old ones.

So, what does anyone think of this series of Yu Gi Oh? Its strengths, weaknesses and its impact on the Yu Gi Oh franchise.

The next ep (123) will be out sometime later today or tomorow subbed, so if anyone wants to post links to new episodes, you can if you want to.

This is exactly why I made the thread that is stickied at the top of this part of the forum. Though if this thread does better than the more popular of the other two, I will replace the link that is up there.

I didnt want to constantly bump it over and over again if no one talked on it.

It doesn't matter. One topic, one thread.

I hate the notion that threads left idle for a certain amount of time should be treated as pariahs. If that was really so, the thread should be deleted from the database and a new thread set up.

Well, I just started watching this series about last month, and have gotten to about episode 53. It's a great series with even better music. The voice acting is superb and the plot is surprisingly solid for the admittedly absurd concept.

Also, all compliments to the Anime are directed at the Japanese version, not the English Dub.

Ah Yugioh. What can I say about this series, and it's sequels that has not already been said.

Okay, I got on. The next series will be DUELS IN SPAAAAAAAACCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

Seriously though. Since it hasn't been put out there (and if it has, feel free to verbally mock me) I have two theories on the Aki/Akiza losing her psychic powers front.

1) They were based on powerful negative emotions (ie hate, which she had in excess, but as she became kinder and more at peace, they eventually became more manageable, before fading completely)

2) It has something to do with the current villains of the Arc. They Gave Team Catastrophe the card of darkness, so they clearly are also capable of making cards attack for real, but in a different manner from Aki. They brought her down to normal to take out the competition.

I lay down these two theories and end my turn.

ep 129

Hah, another bump. Sigh.

new ep, with a new opening and ending.

New intro: 7/10 nice and in 5ds style, but not that interesting to me.

New end: ?/10 It is more stylized and I am not sure how well I like it.

Recap ep: I see why they put it in, but there are a number of Fridge Logic problems with it.

What I am most interested in is why it got a new intro/end. At the moment, I can only think of enough plot/loose ends for maybe 14 episodes at the current pace (2per match and 1-2 per loose end depending on the amount of exposition). Yu Gi Oh usually uses new intros/endings for longer than that. Wonder what plot twists remain...

Theres a new character in the popening and a new Manchine emperor, too.

And the ending has Ship Tease near its end and supposedly a possible final evolution for Stardust Dragon or all 5 signer dragons.

Ok, I know most of the "Boss cards" in Yu Gi Oh are Game Breakers in some way/if used correctly BUT THIS ONE IS JUST RIDICULOUS. And it is still in it's most basic form. And we have not seen one of it's abilities yet.

...Where is a Dark Hole when you need it?
