I dunno, I just find it inexplicably annoying. Archery I mean.

Especially when people insist on using archery when they are in a setting with guns.

Archery is fine on Claude, but I'd like him a lot more if he used something else.

I don’t think Epimenides works as OG Dagda honestly. Mostly since Dagdas endgoal will kill himself as well and is in fact part of the plan.

Hey, I did say a couple of them are just because I find them entertaining. Having Epimenides be OG Dagda was just because I found the idea of having Arval be New Dagda hilarious.

Gaston was actually kind of hard for me, because I originally didn't want to cast Felix in anything since I figured it'd be funny if Dimitri-as-Odin had a raven with Felix's hairstyle, but then I couldn't think of anyone else, so I ended up going with Felix.

I did think of having Ferdinand von Aegir being a less assholish Gaston at one point.

On second thought, I think Leonie as Isabeau might be a better fit than Ingrid. Only instead of being a geek over The Rose of Versailles, Leonie can be a geek over a manga about some guy known as the Blade Breaker.

The density thing is definitely not true early on, with high-Move units on very claustrophobic maps. There's enough enemy 2-range overlapping single range that I'm for sure feeling having a trash Kris who can't meet them head on with a Javelin or Hand Axe.

Oh man, imagine if Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei had a crossover... That'd be sick. I'm sure they'd lean into the darker aspects of Fire Emblem, and have a story that mixed the stories of warring kingdoms FE is known for with the story of heaven and hell's struggle SMT is known for. So much potential!

thats such an obvious direction to take it, but honestly id wish they pander to weebs and did high school idol life sim stuff

Luke is attempting to carry, but Kris dropped the ball off a twenty-foot cliff! I joked about Kris becoming a disappointing Horseman, but at -1 Str and -4 Spd, that seems more prophesy at this point.

Kuroi's stream descriptions are always more entertaining than the games themselves ever could be.

Heh, I'm flattered. Seriously, though, the way New Mystery scripts its "pack of Thieves with loot" sequences really does makes me feel like I'm engaging in a really stupid Benny Hill chase sequence.

I found this video on Fates and, as someone who's never played it but heard contested things about it (to say the least), I found this video funny AF and I wanted to share it.

Yeah, it was such a good moment in Conquest when Zola won the war for Nohr by capturing the Hoshidan royals, and then Corrin did the intelligent, pragmatic thing and accepted the slightly dishonorable W instead of deliberately dragging the war out longer with more bloodshed by releasing them back to Hoshido.

I mean, I still approve of them murdering Zola in that situation. Could have marched Garon right to the throne of plot convenience right after but killing Zola was absolutely the right move either way.

Logically, wouldn't Garon have ordered all the royals executed since he's programmed by Anankos to cause as much suffering as possible? There's no way he's going to keep them alive long enough for him to sit on the throne and be exposed. The scene with Ryoma confirms this.

Slime Garon is explicitly a paranoid tyrant who has the internal logic of his cruel actions also being pragmatic decisions to not leave anything to chance, so he's really got no motivation to not execute the royals as soon as possible.

And no, you can't use the logic that Corrin had Sakura as a prisoner, it's because Corrin personally captured her. Zola was going to report directly to Garon.

Well, it'd be easy enough to kill Zola and claim the credit for capturing the Hoshidan royals. Just tell Garon they saw through his trap, and Zola was killed when they fought back. Then Corrin swooped in and secured the victory. That said, by the story's own logic, three of the four would almost assuredly die, since they were barely able to convince Garon that one political prisoner was worthwhile. He'd probably order everyone except Ryoma killed, then use Ryoma as the bargaining chip. Then order the execution of Ryoma and the other PoWs (who presumably surrender because of Ryoma being hostage) executed.

Now having said all that, Corrin and friends object on moral grounds since Zola is violating a neutral country’s sovereignty by impersonating its ruler and violating traditions under that guise.

But uhhh, that falls apart when you think about it.

Yeah, it'd be suspicious if Garon marches into Hoshido completely uncontested save for whatever paltry force Yukimura can muster, but this is the same slime monster who still sat down on the magic throne after Corrin was suspiciously insistent on urging him to do so. Just play ignorant, or posit that they fled the continent like selfish cowards. Or that you burned them to soot so Hoshido wouldn't even have corpses to bury, he'd probably get off on that.

I mean if Hoshido is like Japan in that way cremation is likely the proper funeral rites anyway.

Finished my 6th Engage run. Married Clanne since I don't want to use him again. He wasn't that bad as a Mage Knight. With Celica after I stuffed him full of Spirit Dusts. He's just annoying to level from 1. He did get supported by Wolf Knight Alear with Lucina to make him invincible. Still not a big fan of Bonded Shield shenanigans, but it certainly has its high points. Still liked Wyvern Alear more.

My interesting builds were Wyvern Jade with Lyn and General Goldmary with Sigurd. Wyvern + Lyn fixes everyone, so Jade was fine, though definitely underwhelming compared to most Wyverns I've used in Engage. After Kuroi's meme runs I wanted to try using a General. Being able to throw someone into the middle of a pack of enemies and mostly come out fine was a little useful, but I don't think I'll miss not having that on later runs. She certainly wasn't invincible, but for low investment Goldmary it was fine doing something other than her usual Hero shenanigans.
