Fire Emblem

Did the Elibe games ever get an artbook? I was just thinking how nice it would be to get one if Elibe ever gets a remake.

Gonna appreciate the side characters getting expansion.

Anyone remember how long it took for us to get an English version of the Awakening artbook after the original Japanese version was released?

Then again, the Awakening artbook was a monster of a book (though I say that in a good way). I'm kind of hoping the Fates artbook will be just as big, though I'll have a hard time finding a place to put it considering my bookshelves are already filled with all sorts of books.

I wish, only because the artist for 7 is ambiguous judging from the style and no credits were found. And of course Elibe would appreciate the side material addons.

AFAIK the closest thing to an artbook for the Elibe duology would be the Fire Emblem Characters - The Sword of Seal & The Sword of Flame databook released in 2004.

Also, according to the 25th Anniversary book, Sachiko Wada is credited as the main illustrator for Blazing Blade.

I feel ashamed for starting with Fates and have it one of my favorites because of this. I didn't know that continent name is mandatory in the previous games until I played them and fans grouped the games by their continent names if there are more than one (Archanea series, Jugdral series, etc.; it got to the point where those series would share the same trope page *Fire Emblem Akane-yya flashbacks*)

7's artist is Eiji Kaneda, the same as 6.

It's funny how games require less Guide Dang It! in this information age where everyone is three clicks away from a full walkthrough.

Fun fact. When I first played Path of Radiance, I had no clue Stefan existed until my fifth playthrough.

I appreciate that Rennac's recruitment is free if you just throw L'Arachel at him, because it makes her objectively worth 10,000 gold.

Delthea's recruitment is also pretty dang complicated.

Idk recruiting enemies is a game mechanic even though Navarre is a meme for this. Not that I start with the first one...

It's a bit Guide Dang It!, because if you know to bring or stumble upon having Subdue (I know it's not terribly hard to work up the WEXP for Alm's prf weapon, but still), then it's really straightforward. Otherwise, hope you like continually tanking high magic damage until she runs low on HP.

Delthea pretty much kills Luthier in their support convos regardless.

Stefan's recruitment in Path Of Radiance really gives the feeling of "...How the hell are you supposed to find this out without a guide!?"

I think Stefan's recruitment is there as a sort of bonus for people who very thoroughly check the map. And there is at least a hint to check the map for anyone who has played a Fire Emblem before (since buried treasures are almost always in desert maps). The chances of the laguz being the ones to run into him are a fair bit higher, too, since there are enemies around there that the laguz easily handle and the party has, at best, two Thieves deployed who are still way more hindered than the laguz. It's still a pretty iffy thing, but at least IS somewhat engineered it to make stumbling into him a semi-decent chance.

Having to pixel hunt for buried treasures must be awkward for those starting with the 3DS games as that is not a thing there.

Awakening's Paralogue 14's Goddess Staff is a pretty close throwback, though.
