So I decided to finally try the Touhou games for the first. Which one is the best to start with?

Perfect Cherry Blossom, Imperishable Night, Hidden Star in Four Seasons

I recommend scooping up some demos if you have Steam, to try out a few different styles. Asterism listed the entry games that worked the best for most folks, but I had a weird introduction to the series and had my best early runs with Subterranean Animism, which is commonly held to be a frustrating entry. It might turn out to be similar for you!

I did Embodiment of Scarlet Devil first. Though I didn't beat Flandre until I had beaten several other Extra Stages already.

You can almost hear the pounding taiko as she charges toward her objective.

In what may be relevant to someone's interests, Chamaji, the artist who draws every Touhou character with distinct eye designs, has themself a gallery of avatar icons. And if you haven't seen their work yet, it's worth a look.

Cooking is power? Well certainly explains restaurants.

Hm, but judging from the chapter, the plot structure might finally change now as people have caught on to whats happening.

I know it's probably a coincidence, but I can't help but grin hugely at the notion that Marisa, book-borrower-without-permission extraordinaire, is menaced by an orangutan.

Phooey! I was looking forward to a Shoujou being introduced as an actual character rather than just an alcohol-induced hallucination... Its appearance was appropriate, but still...
And, yeah, it does feel like the manga may start to pick up the pace a bit from now on. Not that I've minded this slow start — it's been giving me unusually much inspiration in regards to what to put in the table (tonight it's definitely gonna be beef bourguignon) — but it's also gotten a wee little bit repetetive. Like, seriously, this month's chapter could literally have been last months chapter and the only difference would be that I would've had beef bourguignon a month earlier... But now it feels like all the pieces are in place, Miyoi and Suika are the trouble makers, Reimu and Marisa have caught on and soon we'll hopefully be off to the races~

Also, it's nice to see that Alice hasn't been completely forgotten about.
Also also, I notice that we're still sticking with the classic characters at the parties by the shrine: Youmu, Yuyuko, Remi, Sakuya, Alice, the Fairies, all of them good, classic mainstays in an ocean of characters.
Plus, seeing Komachi slacking about is always nice.

Maybe I'm a bit slow on the uptake but I'm fidning it really hard to believe Miyoi is just a zashiki-warashi.

Well, they cancelled Comiket. Bummer.

… Honestly, I forgot that 17.5 was announced at all.

Guess we can forget about getting any Touhou games this year until maybe Winter Comiket.

It'll just get released digitally

I was behind so I reread all the chapters. Finally, some good Flandre content.

And I'm a little concerned that someone as powerful as Yuyuko can casually be possessed by an evil former hell spirit.
