For anyone who's not familiar with the story.
I tried to find a cool video or something more interesting for the Land of the Lotus Eaters, but it seemed kinda weirdly thin on the ground. Have a painting, anyway.◊

Quick! Marisa do the Makankousappou! She's got her in a Full Nelson!
Marisa in native dress almost made my head explode, I hope it catches on with fan artists like Aya's traditional costume. And I'm not sure which explanation I like better for her going from that to her normal uniform the next morning, "a witch did it" or that she and Reimu are such besties that she lets Marisa keep some spare changes of clothes around the shrine.
I was wondering why I couldn't identify the girl to Reimu's right on page 13, but it's Whale Hat, isn't it?
Reimu can stop bustin' youkai anytime she wants to. It's a choice, not an addiction. And certainly not a vulnerability a new antagonist could exploit.
So I'm guessing Miyoi's distinct from Doremy in that she's more about putting people to sleep - specifically via a drunken stupor where they get into rip-roaring fights with giant youkai and have difficulty remembering her the next morning - than governing a dream world. And she's living in Suika's booze fountain? And Suika's okay with Miyoi serving people Youkai Girl Bathwater?
Thanks for sharing, Clarste. I am disappointed in the lack of turtle for this chapter, but I understand that's not really your fault.
On page 7, I'm not sure if "taking me all to the shrine" quite works. Is she saying "all the way to the shrine?"
It was nice to see Reimu looking out for her friend, honestly. Not that it's a surprise or anything, it's just something I like to see.
I appreciated the translation note about "Suma." We're learning!

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI made a pun too! That's how I acknowledge you!
So was she lying about the owner not knowing she's a youkai, or what? Because if she's a zashiki-warashi there shouldn't be a problem, right?
Sounded to me like he's only dimly aware of her existence. Like even if she told him it wouldn't stick.
Yeah, didn't FS/WAHH have a chapter about them temporarily leaving Gensokyo due to demand in Outside World? Pretty sure that they weren't a secret or anything there.
On unrelated news, there is this one one doujin game by Taito coming to Switch. The funny thing being that ZUN used to work for Taito before quitting to do his own thing.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! Our entry on the Z-W's mentions making sure to treat them like a parent would a child, i.e. nicely without giving them too much attention for fear of driving them off, so it's probably best to remain polite but distant. So that tells you something about parenting standards of old Japan.
On the other hand, if a side effect of having her around is giving customers boar-related hallucinations, she might want to keep her activity on the down low in case the owner thinks that would hurt business. And the fact that Miyoi is acting a bit predatory - going about giving people heart-pounding nightmares, like she was some sort of youkai that needs to feed off human antagonism - suggests that she's a bit more complicated than the House Fey we've seen so far. Or else those other zee-dubs had a darker side we didn't see.
Also, Suika had the most effective disguise in all the story. Because even if you see an oni's horns beneath her veil, you dare not mention them.
They're spies for Yukari. I'd say that's dark enough.
Can't believe it took me this long to get it.
Lotus Eater is perhaps a reference to Lotus-Eater Machine, and the trope might be important for the story.
