Okay, you are playing on Easy. I think the next easiest game should be Ten Desires? Bit short on lives, though
I was considering tackling that game next, actually. I've heard is one of the most accessible easiest games in the series.
...Is it weird that I found Eo SD to be the easiest game of them all? I mean, my attention span is short enough that I haven't really focused on one in years, and I have yet to reinstall most of them, but Eo SD...that's the only one I managed to 1cc on Normal, so...

The awful things he says and does are burned into our cultural consciousness like a CRT display left on the same picture too long. -FighteerNot too strange, I don't think. To date, I've never beaten a Touhou game on normal, but my best run ever was getting to stage six with the Suika/Reimu team in Subterranean Animism. I'm terrible at Touhou, but apparently I just click with the worst shot type in one of the harder games.
I want to recommend DDC actually.
Yes, it is harder than TD in terms of the bosses and stages, but I find DDC a much funner experience because of how generous it is with bombs and life pieces.
TD is of course easier in terms of the above, but its stinginess makes it less forgiving too. You really feel it when you screw up somehow in TD.

Conception is sin Birth is pain Life is toil Death is inevitableI've heard DDC brought up as well.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I think DDC is the best gamenote note , but it has distinct Unstable Equilibrium problems and I'm not sure it'd be the best choice for someone who's only just starting out
How easy is it to pull off Perpetual Motion Marisa?
Heart of StoneI've found PCB to be one of the middling ones in terms of difficulty at worst. Sure the bullets are dense, but they're predictable unlike Shou's curvy lasers, Seiga's homing bullets, Sanae's random re-orientations, or Sakuya's time stop.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."PCB has curving lasers as well, just ask the Prismrivers! Other than that, yeah, your appraisal of the difficulty seems correct.
Sakuya's Timestop too I actually find to be a boon, as it gives my brain those precious few seconds to plot a course. Reisan of all stage 5s was the one I had most trouble with (of the ones I've played) because I never figured out her gimmick.

The awful things he says and does are burned into our cultural consciousness like a CRT display left on the same picture too long. -FighteerReisen (easy) is all about moving between the bullet clusters mid-hypnosis and moving around them once they start moving.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."You mean those ghost wisp trail thingies that eventually split into red or blue arrowhead bullets? Those usually keep their distance so unless you're trying to hug Lunasa (who does it the most if I remember right), it's not really much of a threat.
Then again given how many bullets it splits into, you want to keep your distance as well.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Congratulation, you are super player!
In terms of difficulty, I find Mountain of Faith clicks with me. I think it's because of the lenient power/bombing system.
And Highly Responsive to Prayers too, but that doesn't count.
Also I just finished Violet Detector. I see now what everybody was saying about the teleportation controls, thankfully it becomes less important later on. Also knowing about quick recharging would've been useful. Other than that I found the game lots of fun, so far it's the only photography game I've liked, perhaps because I've been treating it less as a puzzle game and more as just plain bullet hell. A Fantasy Kaleidoscope episode on it would be cool.
Also the final scene theme should've been Last Occultist.

And that's how I ended up in the wardrobe. It Just Bugs Me!There's a mod for VD that makes the teleporting a lot better to control
Heart of StonePeople are modding Touhou now?
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."There've been mods floating around for a while.
Probably the most popular is the one for Embodiment of Scarlet Devil that pastes a hitbox indicator on your sprite; the base game doesn't let you see your hitbox, even when focusing.
I have a message from another time...I know for a fact that skip gameplay mods exist for Touhou because some of the testers over on thpatch use it to see if the dialogue in the fan translations are implemented properly.
You'd be surprised by how much just one extra line of dialogue can screw up the games.
I do lots of stuff. The real question is am I any good at that stuff. There are mods, but last I checked (admittedly, a long while ago) they were largely used to touch up graphics in older games.
The awful things he says and does are burned into our cultural consciousness like a CRT display left on the same picture too long. -FighteerAlso Ultra Modes, and those to skip to certain spellcards.
And that's how I ended up in the wardrobe. It Just Bugs Me!Also, the gimmick is something that just helps you out.
In case you ever wondered what Tenshi would be like as the detective in a police procedural.
Plus Reisen is pretty manageable on Easy if you know what you're doing. Youmu you just have to graze and cross your fingers.
