You know, I've seen at least one doujin that's "Touhou in an office setting", but I think it was played for tragedy. "Capitalism Comes To Gensokyo", I think. It involved Chen doing... something to put the rest of the Yakumo family in poverty. I think.

But yeah, Orin as the HR director, and maybe Alice Margatroid with Alice's triangle-hair, at least.

I dunno, I don't see how Orin's personality fits that position at all, regardless of whether or not we stick to the Catbert archetype.

Well, she does manage human (and presumably youkai) resources to begin with.

It's just that said resources aren't living.

And she might not be mean or evil about it, but things could get... awkward if she tried to apply her skills from the old job to it.

She's really much more of a hands-on character though, getting personally involved with everything. I mentioned Kanako before as my choice, the schemer who uses people for her own ends. Although not necessarily with malice.

Hmm... what if Kanako were the HR Director and Orin one of her employees? So one day, Kanako would say, "Meiling is sleeping on the job again? Go give her a pink slip," and Orin would trundle up to Meiling's cubicle with her cat-cart and say, "Hey, there, I have your pink slip! Hop on in!"

That said, I don't think Meiling would actually be sleeping on the job, unless she really hated it there. And I guess she probably would.

Meiling would be the equivalent of Wally. Somehow never gets fired despite always being lazy, sleeping or seeming incompetent.

I figure we should just find an existing institution in Gensokyo, and focus this idea on that. While it won't have the aspect of "all your favorite Touhou toons in an office setting", and will most likely actually require a gaggle of OC's, it will be much more cohesive and... making sense.

I suggest that we do the hell of blazing fires. Give it an industrial makeover  *

, And have Orin & Okuu in the management positions, with Satori even higher, while Zombie Faries (and an additional Kasha/Hell Raven here and there) make up the regular employees, and thus the main characters. At this point, it's very much an Original Flavour Fic, but that's not a bad thing, is it?

Would that mean the Palace of Earth Spirits gets remodeled into the office building for Gensokyo's first and only nuclear power plant?

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

Or maybe the plant just rents out office space in it?

Alternativley, it could be set before SA, and be about the buisness of hauling dead bodies around.

As a bonus, some Dilbert toons could make cameos as corpses.

Wriggle pictures!

One of which may not be entirely worksafe.

Of the thirty some odd MGS parodies I could find, I like this one the best.

Red M with Red-White

POWER GEYSER!

Oh, right. Not everyone haves a Pixiv account. Well, I'm not sure how to showcase the art in... "jpg," was it?

It shows Tewi Inaba(as Terry Bogard) performing a Power Geyser(hence the title I made) on Chen(as Cheng Sinzan).

I guess I don't have to bother posting my own pictures in a thread where I have to compete with full-fledged Japanese masterpieces all over the place.

Please, I don't let the fact that there exist even better comedians than myself stop me from sharing my brilliantly incisive rapier wit with the thread. Normally, I would recommend staying as far away from my methods as possible, but in this case, I think I'm onto something.
