It's not really a Super-Trope, it's an index. So it shouldn't have examples. I don't see enough reason to ignore the rule in this case.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"These aren't examples, these are special mentions for works that fit almost the entire index into their "This work provides examples of" list.

I'd suggest not putting works in it. That would just confuse things.
It might be a neat idea to mention it (the fact that most, if not all, of the work fits the Xanatos Tropes) on the works page itself.
Never be without a Hat! Hot means heat. I don't care if your usage dates to 1300, it's my word, not yours. My Pm box is open.I did that myself once, way back when I made the Battle Tech Expanded Universe page.
At the time, it was a stop-gap solution until someone with even more familiarity could come along and point out what few tropes from that index didn't fit (yes, I'm convinced most of them do), and add the rest (either that, or until I got bored/had enough time to re-read all the books and do it myself). It's still there today.
Of course, if it's a bad idea, I'm all for changing it. Just pointing out that it's been done before.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)i don't think adding works to the index is a good idea. even if the entire plot of the work is pretty much a xanatos trope, the xanatos tropes are pretty different from each other. it would be ridiculously hard to find a work that would fit all of them, and as such it would be better to mention that work in the specific xanatos tropes that relate to it, which is how it's currently being done.

One thing to note: The Death Note page has Xanatos Planned This Index as a trope potholed as "Xanatos Planned This Anime". So, it's a shoo-in.
I don't think that adding works to trope indexes is a good idea, independent of the index in question. In this particular case, while Death Note has good examples of many of the Xanatropes, it doesn't even feature about half of them.
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.it would be way more useful to list each individual trope and explain the example. if TV Tropes is here to document tropes and their usage, it really does no good to be lazy about it.
Very much so IMO its not bad to put Xanatos Planned This Anime and pothole it since the series seems to be in every trope I look at there but at least ** the entries it covers below it.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!If you want to do it that way, then list the tropes on Xanatos Planned This Index as subpoints and give an example of each one. Simply saying "This work has at least one example of each of the dozen tropes in this index" is singularly unhelpful to anyone who doesn't already know both the work and the index inside and out.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
Just a random thought: Should we have a "Works deserving special mention" in Xanatos Planned This Index?
I have two such works already (See below), but I need to know if adding such a section would be a good idea.
The two works I have in mind for addition to XPTI are Diplomacy and Death Note; Gargoyles, oddly, probably doesn't quite qualify as the plot isn't fully focused on the scheming. Feel free to suggest others, though
