Dying in your food, since I'm Nazrin!
Lesse...Nazrin...
Kinda interesting, she's the only one of Byakuren's crew who doesn't have that much of a personal investment to Byakuren herself. Rather, her direct reason is Shou. In a certain sense, Nazrin is almost like Shou's own Shou. She's only an early stage boss, but she's crafty and...well...clever clever. So she can take on people above her size.
Her power is kind of mundane, but useful. I'd love to be able to locate lost things on a whim. She also seems to be a leader of mice. Small, but a ton of them in numbers, potentially very useful. Very Stage 1-like abilities.
Really nice in-game art, I think.
Interesting that she was sent to spy on Shou, but seems to have become closer with her. Also funny, as the equivilant to a "mole" in Japan is a mouse. I bet that was intentional...
EDIT: The comments on that Yamame x Nazrin pic...

^ Kind of interesting that in the EWI video for Byakuren when every other Myouren temple related character has a flashback to how Byakuren helped them, Nazrin remembers the time Byakuren gave her some cheese.
As always, disregard the swimsuits if possible.
Edit in regards to an edit: ^ Get Wriggle's help and they can wipe out 1/3 the human population of Gensokyo. *

Forever liveblogging the AvengersAlso, even though it's not Nazrin-related, since Letty was just done a bit ago...
Badass Letty seems to be gaining minor steam on Danbooru. I think. Because White Rock Shooter.
Despite the fact it says they were uploaded tow years ago, Fairy Wars seems to be referenced by one of them, so...
Alright back to lurking Nazrin, since I'm Nazrin.
Its interesting how the fact that Nazrin was top minion of a god doesn't get more play in fanon.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPeople are probably just too busy shipping her with everyone. =/
She's not necessarily the top underling. It was only stated that she acted as a helper.
Okay, yeah, but where's the Nazrin/Bishamonten ship?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersPlus it's amusing to note that, rahter than being nothing but Shou's loyal charge, she was initially sent by Bishomonten to keep watch on Shou. Interesting to think about.
I have a message from another time...^^Bishamonten isn't a cute girl.
^^^^ I thought I heard somewhere that Nazrin was based on the mongoose that Bishamonten carries. Maybe not head minion but somewhere up there certainly.
^^ Nazrin was like the auditor that wanders around making sure Bishamonten is getting the most bang for his buck/pagoda. Can you imagine Nazrin saying "Okay, so you plan to bust into Makai to free Byakuren.... That's suuuuuuuperrrrrr. And how many new worshipers will this get? And I'll need you to come into work on Saturday, yeahhhhhhhhhh."
^ Curse your logic.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersSad but true.
^^ someone needs to make that. Whether that be in comic or single image form or whatever. We need to perpetuate that interpretation of Nazrin.
Also, I'd like to see a comic of her trying to get the Pagoda back from Kourindou, because we all know that's the "Second-hand shop" she found it in. And we all know how likely it is to get Rinnosuke to part with treasures.
I have a message from another time...Tag Dream has something like that. And so does Littleshrimp, kinda.
And there's some that are just cruel. Either way, Rinnosuke comes off as a huge dick, the way he deals in lost and stolen property.
Edit: Has nothing to do with anything but here's a two part Littleshrimp comic. Littleshrimp does an awesome Nazrin.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI've told this to Littleshrimp in the past, but I do honestly love it when he does some more "serious" stuff, like that picture of Nazrin and Kogasa chilling together near a tree, that's one of my favorite pictures he's done. He said he usually only draws that kind of stuff when he's really bored, but mentioned he might try to draw more stuff like it.
Then he called me babycakes.
WHO IS THIS LOSERCan I vote for Littleshrimp when its time to move on to a new character?
Forever liveblogging the Avengers^^ That... that sounds like him.
an you mean this picture? I like how most of the comments are people wondering why the picture isn't something insane, and then deciding that in and of itself is insane.
I have a message from another time...Yes, that one. It's so nice.
WHO IS THIS LOSERLooks like being Nazrin is not necessarily always a good thing. This has been quiet for quite some time. I'm worried about what this means for the next character. I figured the logical progression would be to do Shou next, but I can't imagine her being more discussable...
I read those doujins Bocaj linked to. Nothing really interesting there, I'm afraid... a lot of shipping going on, generic love-stories that could've used all sorts of characters interchangeably... I wonder what inspires so much shipping for her. Well, there was some different stuff, like the one where she was sent on an errant and Kogasa tried scaring her, but still.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmrgh.
Oh yeah, spell cards!
So in Double Spoiler she digs up gold.
And in UFO, she... well, uses her dowsing rods and stuff. Oh, and the pagoda. Card descriptions on the wiki:
Normal: "A precious treasure, it' not very powerful because the one who is using it is just a mouse."
Hard: "This is what happens when you underestimate mice."
Lunatic: "Humans would respect mice a lot more if they saw this. Nazrin proves to be the strongest stage1 boss."
So Nazrin is a vermin associated with being unsanitary and carrying diseases and being small and weak, but is actually clever, resourceful and strong, and finds stuff.
Ergo: Nazrin =~ Scout
^ I tried my best but there was only so much to work with...
Anyway, I think Nazrin is notable and awesome for being the only first level boss from the Windows Era who is important to the plot.
I do wonder why she tends to be portrayed as tsundere/SRS business character. In the first level, she seems kind of goofy.
Forever liveblogging the Avengershmm i wonder
WHO IS THIS LOSERYes, because of the Plague of tsundere interpretations.
I prefer either a silly mouse, or an Auditor of Bishamonten.
Mostly the auditor/spy idea, because I love the fact that she was originally sent to keep an eye on Shou, not the other way around.

I have a message from another time...^ "Mmm hmmm.... Okay, so let's brainstorm. How can we get enrollment up over the next quarter?"

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat's funny, especially when paired up with that quote.
So I think we're in agreement. Fandom doesn't remember that Nazrin was Shou's superior nearly enough.
I'm also amused by the synergy between their powers. Nazrin can detect treasure, and Shou attracts treasure. Enlisting them for the flying object hunt was very smart of MURASA.
I have a message from another time...
^^ It didn't work in her favor when she tried to scare/confuse Sanae by telling them that mice eat humans.
