He has a brief flashback to Wing Zero near the end, but that's it.

[up][up]Yeah, but it really was just a small cut in of the Wing Zero. Kind of an easter egg. The Fukui manga has him pilot the Gundam Aesculapius from the The Last Outpost manga, but that's only really valid there.

His piloting getup at the end of the show looked like an OZ uniform too.

[up][up] I'd probably still count it as something.

Would the Turn X using Shining Finger count as well?

Also my favourite Gundams probably include the Gundam Thunderbolt Full Armor thing because its just Sundowner as a mech, the Aegis, the Turn A you all know, Nobel and probably for simplicity, the F91.

Y'know, if the Dark History is such a problem, then you could argue that Gundam EXA and the Extreme VS games that tie into it and its sequel would have it worse.

Because General Answer is stated to somehow perfectly replicate every single Gundam entry as a massive simulated world (although curiously Extreme VS Force suggests that the UC timeline is the actual historical data record and the AUs are "alternate scenarios"). I need to double-check this at some point.

I'm wondering what I should watch next now that I've finished ZZ, Turn-A, X, and Origin. When I get back home where my DV Ds are I think I'm gonna rewatch Zeta. Also considering IBO even though I'm usually not super into A Us.

It seems like lots of people are rewatching Wing right now. I kinda want to, but I refuse to do it sober.

I wonder if they are gonna now release the Hathaway trilogy closer together to compensate with the big delays that occurred.

Why would they? Those delays probably slowed down work on the movies.

Yeah, trying to release the movies closer would be a bad idea because it's overworking during a pandemic.

IBO is very solid, and there's always 0080 and Thunderbolt: December Sky (don't bother with the OV As, the films are the complete versions) if you want something shorter. Also consider G or the original Gundam Build Fighters for a bit of a change of pace.

0080 has been one of my top series for years. Adore it. Love G as well, watched it in the Toonami days and own it all on DVD. Love Thunderbolt too though I haven't seen all of season 2.

I was thinking IBO because it was one i havent seen yet, and some UC fans seem to think it's ok.

IBO is the most spiritually and tonally Universal Century of the AU shows, and I say that despite the fact that it tells a largely original story whereas no less than three of the other AUs (SEED, AGE, and Wing) do UC saga speedruns. It's easy to jump from, say, Zeta to Iron-Blooded Orphans and feel right at home.

But this Perfect Gundam doesn't have a random water gun or googly eyes, what's even its fucking point?

I could be wrong, but maybe it's meant to be an Adaptational Badass with a Mythology Gag to the GM Camouf from Igloo.

Also, the Perfect Gundam didn't have googly eyes in Build Fighters. That build was treated seriously.

Thunderbolt's author has specifically said that he isn't sticking hard and fast to the UC canon. Think of it as a very gentle AU.

Happy new year. It's a weird feeling knowing this year I'll have been into Gundam for 20 years. I feel like I should have contributed more fan content and stuff, but I guess the only thing I can do is keep plugging away at stuff.

Does anyone know the episode in Gundam Wing where this song was used (The name of the song is The Wings of a boy who killed adolescence)

That's actually used fairly frequently in the show.

I do remember hearing it on the next episode previews.

Thunderbolt has always been its own continuity. I'm just glad they're being more blatant about it so people might actually realize it. You can't throw away canon if you were never part of it.
