The Gundam Lucifer?
Are you serious?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."What is that directed towards? Disbelief at the name? Or at the idea that it rivals the Turn-A Gundam?
Disgusted, but not surprisedThe name.
I can't tell which is edgier, the Devil Gundam or the Gundam Lucifer.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."TBF, the Devil Gundam's original name wasn't as edgy. It was originally the Ultimate Gundam. It got the "Devil" moniker after its crash-landing on Earth messed up its programming and it became a Mechanical Abomination.
As for G-Lucifer...tbf it was designed by one of the antagonist factions.

Disgusted, but not surprisedWell in fairness it was built by Venusians so the intent was to riff off the Morning Star rather than the Ultimate Evil.
What makes the G-IT Labs even crazier for building the damn thing was that the series takes place after Turn-A Gundam. In other words, these idiots saw fit to equip a Mobile Suit with the very same weapon that reset their civilization!
Fortunately, they also put in the same amount of thought into their security measures, making it easy for the good guys to Gundam Jack it.

Disgusted, but not surprisedPeople are stupid. Why do you think they keep making nuclear weapons way beyond the "wipe out all life off the Earth" point?
Wake me up at your own risk. But there is one particularly important question:
Is Reconquista as bad as the SEED series? Both of them?
Except worse since nukes haven't destroyed civilization yet.
Here, the Moonlight Butterfly has already done that, and these geniuses decided to build a mobile suit with a Moonlight Butterfly System.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI've only seen the first half but honestly unless the second half takes a massive drop in quality I'm not sure why people say it's badly written.
...The first half has some pretty appalling dialogue already, but it does in fact take a massive drop in quality in the second half. Basically starts moving at triple speed. Incoherent

Wait, I thought it was supposed to be between UC and CC? I mean, they mention the UC a few times as that bad thing that happened and shouldn't be repeated
Is Reconquista as bad as the SEED series? Both of them?
Eh? SEED is basically fine. But I like G-Reco more than Destiny, on the basis of at least having interesting ideas and looking pretty
Tomino said in an interview back in 2015 that G Reco takes place 500 years after Turn A.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThe wiki says it's set thousands of years after UC.

There was one instance where Tomino allegedly said its after Turn A, some sources say that was misreported, and other sources have said outright that its before Turn A.
Personally, I don't think it makes sense for it be after Turn A, and I also simply don't like the idea of a series being set after Turn A. Either way, its so detached from everything else that I don't think it really matters where specifically the RC calendar is in relation to the CC calendar.

Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...From the previous page:
Exactly, how did Super Robot Wars X butcher G-Reco's story even further?
Yeah, G-Reco directly follows on from the Universal Century, whereas it's a long-forgotten memory in Turn A. People in the Reguild Century remember what UC mobile suits look like (they have statues of them in museums), discriminate against the Kuntala, and have technology firmly rooted in Minovsky physics. Also, given the show's general tone, having it as one of the failed histories before humanity finally got it right in the Correct Century makes a lot more sense.
What's precedent ever done for us?Here's a link to the interview with Tomino about G Reco's place in the timeline.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHonestly, the G-Self is just as, if not more, brokenly overpowered than the G-Lucifer, it's just not as loud about it. That's one of G-Reco's bigger problems, to be honest — whenever Bellri is in trouble, the G-Self pulls another automated system out of its ass and saves him. This happens not once, but several times — and not even all clustered in the beginning when Bellri's still in his "rookie loser" stage.
But yeah, the G-Self and G-Lucifer at full power are definitely the most broken things this side of Turn A and Turn X. I don't think they could beat the Turn Gundams, because they're only like half as OP, but "half as powerful as Turn A/X" is still head and shoulders above anything else in the series barring like, 00 Quanta or Unicorn in full-on plot device mode.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Exactly, how did Super Robot Wars X butcher G-Reco's story even further?
By... more or less not doing it, but still doing it.
Despite being the premiere of the series, G-Reco is basically a non-entity. Characters and mecha get thrown into the game with little explanation and the game begins at a point where Bellri killed... red-haired girl's boyfriend or something and was at some point mad at him, but they had already moved past it? Seems like a pretty major thing to gloss over in the backstory. But no time! Must have more rehashing of Cross Ange and Mightgaine!
The characters are also basically non-entities, other than Mask who's all "whoo! We're treated as human garbage but we're totally not" and Klim Nick who's an idiot but I'm not sure if the game knows he is or not.
Basically, it's super rushed and shoehorned. And also really lazy. The new units are garbage in gameplay terms and only have two attacks, and I'm 99% sure the series is only in the game so they can justify reusing old sprites and saying "... Regild Century, okay?"

That ties into one of the weirder things about G-Reco—The G-Self is kinda treated like a super robot, where it's this mysterious mobile suit with multiple unknown capabilities, not all of them battle-oriented, but it's also a real robot, created by modern technology and the characters have a good guess as to where it came from from the very beginning. Could be kinda dissonant at times
Oh wow some of the things he said there... yikes

RIP to me serving under an IRL Murrue or Sumeragi ;_;
So hold on, how do we know Tomino wasn't trolling?
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...
The most notable thing about G-Reco to me is that it had one of the most overpowered Mobile Suits in the franchise, the G-Lucifer. It rivals even the friggin' Turn-A and Turn-X Gundams.
Disgusted, but not surprised
