Not sure if it counts, but I've always wanted to hear a good chiptune cover of this song because the lead synth part sounds like something out of a Mega Man game:

ERROR: Signature not loadedI still say that the opening credits of Zombieland should've been set to 'Night Of The Living Dead' rather than 'For Whom The Bell Tolls'. Couldn't the producers get the rights cleared?

Aww, did I hurt your widdle fee-fees?Pulling Teeth by Green Day seems to remind me a bit of Love Hina (albeit humorously), especially the line "No one knows I'm locked in here, all I do is cry".
Collide by Anarchy Club sounds mysteriously similar to Trigun, lyric for lyric (specifically Knives and Vash). Not too implausible either: the two guys in the band are both anime fans.
Devour by Disturbed has Vampire Knight written all over it. I've been wanting to make an AMV about it, but I know that Disturbed songs don't survive long on YouTube.

Is it just me, or does the intro to Muse's "Knights of Zygonia" sound a lot like the beginning of Cream's "White Room"?
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~
This is an idea that some music fits quite well within another unrelated medium, like a video game or a movie. The similarities can be pretty uncanny, and might make for a good music video. For example:
- Tom Waits's "And The Earth Died Screaming" has a few similarities to Majoras Mask, and if you play them togather, the similarities make sense
Anything else you can think of?
