Chi looked up and saw Unicorn's approach. He began frantically looking for somewhere, anywhere, to run to. There was a distinct look of horror and fear etched onto the boy's face.

Dr. Langley turned to Kimimaro and gave a helpless shrug. "In all honesty, kid, I have no idea; my limited knowledge of a Lucifer-class cruiser's armaments notwithstanding, I'm not overly familiar with the workings of the military. That said, from the look of things most of these guards are wearing augmetic combat armour; suits that enhance the wearer's strength and monitor their vital signs. Whether this is simply to allow the individual troopers to keep track of how much punishment they can take, or to allow their commanding officers to monitor their deployments and be constantly aware of what's going on without needing to wait for reports from the field, I cannot say."

The problem is that Tau assumed Chi was still thinking rationally; Fear has a nasty habit of stopping that. He turned, and ran as fast as he could. Even if there was no where to run to.

Abruptly, the spotlights panning across the digsite shut off, and the air was filled with the startled chatter of the soldiers manning the barricade.
"Shit, we lost power! Somebody get that auxilliary power turned back on before—"
"Can't, sir! The engineers just reported in; the lines have been cut."
"Then we have no juice—shit! Switch to infrared and get those guns back into position before they start scaling the walls en masse!"
But it was too late; even as the panicked soldiers scrambled to restore a semblance of order atop the walls, the air was suddenly alive with the awful, ratcheting cries and roars of the vast horde arrayed in front of the gate. Without any further ado morlocks began to climb up the wall in droves like an onrushing swarm of ants, while others rose into the air on plumes of blue bioplasma from their organic jetpacks. Ophidians slithered up the wall or through the air like seasnakes in becalmed waters, heedless of gravity's hold over them, and in seconds the entire digsite was illuminated by countless muzzle flares as the soldiers opened fire on the rising horde. Inhuman roars intermingled with the deafening crack of gunfire and cries of pain and terror as the implacable horrors descended upon the soldiers, and then were washed out by the deafening whumph of a pair of large plasma cannons as the two hovertanks joined the fray.
Ravage watched the carnage dispassionately, then turned to the others. "I no longer think any distraction will be necessary," he remarked idly, before loping off, still cloaked, towards the high walls of the barricade. Dr. Langley rushed after the transmetal panther, electromagnetic crossbow clutched in her hands and ready to be used as a grappling hook once she got close enough to the walls.

Kimimaro shrugged his shoulders and then took off for the wall, following Ravage and Dr. Langley. As he reached the wall, he began to walk up it as if he were on flat ground; those who looked very close would notice the slightest, have-to-look-really-close-to-see-it hint of a glow along the bottoms of his shoes - chakra, anchoring him to the wall and allowing him to cling to and climb it.

It was pandemonium atop the walls—though they fought valiantly, and managed to take down more than a few of the creatures with their assault rifles and flamethrowers, the soldiers manning the barricade were being massacred left and right. As Kimimaro reached the top of the wall, a jet of warm blood would spray towards his face as its owner was torn limb from limb by the powerful claws and slashing blades of two morlocks; a short distance behind this crizzly display, one poor fellow's arms were slashed off by the sickleclaws of an ophidian, and before she even had time to scream the snakelike monstrosity opened its mouth impossibly wide and surged forwards, jaws unhinged, to swallow her whole. Blood and body parts were flying everywhere as the creatures perpetuated this slaughter, and there could be no doubt in anyone's mind that the soldiers would not last much longer; not only did their horrific assailants have the advantage of numbers, but they could regenerate from nearly any injury and fought with a savagery which these soldiers, veterans of countless wars and rookiees fresh out of the academy alike, found utterly alien to their understandings and impossible to counter.
Ravage leapt the wall in a single bound, propelled over it in a great arc by his rocket engine; he wasted no time in turning to help the unfortunate lambs up above, for that would have gained him nothing, and instead he immediately streaked off towards the entrance of the temple as soon as his feet had touched the sandstrewn ground.
Dr. Langley reached the top of the wall a short while after Kimimaro, having used a winch built into the crossbow to haul herself up; she blanched as she laid eyes on the carnage, and quickly looked away as she busied herself with setting up her grappling hook/crossbow bolt so that she could rappel down the other side.

" Tau, you bring Chi to the Auditorium, I'll meet you there!" Phi said as he teleports out of the area.
The blast singed Chi's arm, and he quickly teleported out of the line of fire to a point elsewhere in the dimension, hopefully out of the way.
Vantias dropped onto the top of the wall, his Keyblade drawn.
"Yup. That tasted purple."

Kimimaro had sidestepped the spray of blood and then leapt atop the wall and then down to the ground below. Now he ran after Ravage, running at a speed that no normal human could manage. But then, shinobi weren't normal humans.
"Hoh?" Kisame said, now again watching the bloody battle on the viewsceen. "Looks like things are heating up over there."
