Gordon blinked, realizing that it had been incredibly blurry and neigh-impossible to see. He put his glasses back on as quickly as possible, to clear his vision in case something nasty came along to try and dismember everyone.

This time, Quingenti's body seemed warp. The darkness that made up his form cracked and bent backwards in a manner that seemed physically impossible, as the section of his body that was being targeted by the scythe stretched out of the way. The needles that made up his right arm lashed forward, towards the air around the scythe.

"Whatever that is, I think it's getting worse!" Hope shouted, drawing his boomerang and summoning a fireball around his left hand.

"Yup. That tasted purple."

It was at this point Mason found the cause of the disturbance.
"What the fuck?"

"I'm...fine, I think," Dr. Langley replied, massaging her throat with one hand as she slowly rose to her feet; faint bruise marks could be seen on her neck, mute testament to the force which had nearly throttled her to death a short while earlier, though these were slowly beginning to fade from sight as though they had never existed in the first place. Even so, the red-headed scientist continued to breath with a bit of difficulty, as though whatever damage this attack had inflicted upon her windpipe had not fully been healed just yet.

"Anyway, the transmitter has been destroyed," she continued a moment later. "Without it, we can't be tracked by Washington, so we should be in the clear for now; give me fifteen minutes, and we'll get on our way."

With these words, she strode into the bus and sat down within the large, comfortable confines of the driver's seat; within seconds she had nodded off, and the faint sound of her snores could be heard if one listened hard enough.

Ravage watched her enter, then turned to regard Jack and the others. So, they had attained the Key without his assistance; worrisome, to say the least. He glanced into the bus once more, fixing his gaze on the sleeping scientist and purring to himself in silent contemplation. Was it her, then?

With a wet splortch, the juvenile leviathan was torn in half widthwise; the creature gave out a weak burble and fell limp as it died, its body dissolving into a caustic black gel within Megatron's hands.

Something hot and burning shot out of the dark to slam into the Elder Dragon's chest, searing some manner of brand painfully into the scales and flesh of his right breast.

   ...I HAVE MY EYES ON YOU. I DO NOT FORGET, WORM, AND I NEVER FORGIVE.   

With those words, the darkness dispersed, and Bolas would find himself back in the clearing with the others once more.
