Jack, seeing that there was no end to the demons, ceased his efforts to destroy them all, and instead, focused on fighting through them, trying to reach their victim. As he moved, he too shouted encouragement.

"I am honored to have fought at your side! You have saved our lives! Now we are here to return the favor! If not for you, we would likely be dead now! You must face these demons and defeat them! We will help!"

With a yell, he charged into the fray along with Jack, aiming to reach Dr Langely.

The previous panic in his eyes had been replaced with a grim determination.

He had fought his dark side, and he had won.

Now he would help her in her battle with her demons -

No matter what the cost.

''Jump Strike.'' His sword glowed with energy, and with a cry, he thrust it upwards, knocking the shadows that were in front of him into the air. He jumped up, and smashed the Master Sword into the ground in the midst of the others, creating a shockwave that would deal quite a lot of damage - or at the least knock them off their feet.

He backflipped onto his feet, and continued to fight.

Kimimaro continued to slaughter every demon that came close to him and Dr. Langley, the Cursed Seal giving him strength, speed, stamina, and durability beyond his normal limits.

Spriggan closed his eyes after he shouted before the flashbang exploded near the shadow creatures.

"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"

The flashbang went off.

A blue, glowing crystal surrounded Link, protecting him from the blast of light, and after it had gone off, he continued to fight. He had learnt from his previous experiences with these things.

Icarax marched into the fight, slamming bolts of lightning into the 'demons'before releasing a powereful blast of dark energy to finish them off.

Kimimaro had closed his eyes as the flash-bang went off, and then went back to fighting, having again generated tiny bone-plates to protect his ears and then retracted them once the bang was done.

Icarax reeled at the sudden blast of light, for a moment he stood there shaking his head.

   "They lie,"    the capering shades hissed, more appearing even as the group struck them down.    "He claims to love you, but where was your precious Shin—"   

   "—when you needed him most?"   

"Shut up, damn you," the red-headed scientist said, a faint note of anger creeping into her voice. "I don't care what you say...Shin would never abandon me..."

   "He can...and he has."   

   "When that thing entered your mind and defiled your very soul—"   

   "—he stood by and did nothing."   

"Shut up..."

   "When they came to feast upon you—"   

   "—he did not lift a finger to help until it was too late."   

"I said shut up! Those things didn't happen—"

   "Didn't they? Why would you dream about such awful things—"   

   "—night after night, filling your slumber with torment—"   

   "—if it wasn't significant in some sense?"   

The flashbang went off then, and the shadowy humanoids hissed and shrunk away, blinded by the intense light; for a moment, Dr. Langley was clear, her tormentors wrong-footed and bedazzled.

From above came a low, flanging roar, and suddenly something massive and festooned with hairy, chitinous limbs dropped down onto Megatron, knocking the Decepticon from his feet and pinning him to the ground.

Galen noticed the opportunity and charged into the melee, igniting his lightsaber and slashing at the shadows with abandon.

"Professor!"

Spriggan went off to see the professor after the flashbang went off and heard the creatures yell, attempting to get her to safety.

"The flashbang managed to get the creatures away, but it would be best to get you to a safe position at least."

Kimimaro spread his arms wide and spun a single complete circle, firing a single bone-bullet into the skull of each stunned Shadow.

"Reject their lies!" he shouted to Dr. Langley. "Shin has not abandoned you! Did you not hear the fury in his voice when I informed him of Washington's attempts to harm you?"

Jack continued battling his way closer to the doctor.

"You dream of these things because they are part of the darkness in your soul!" he answered the questions of the demons. "Just as there is evil within all of us! But they are nightmares only! They do not have the power to control you unless you give up! And you have never truly given up! Do not start now! And whatever may have happened, it is one of mortal man's greatest triumphs to be able to move past any hardship! Fight these demons, fight and win!"

Rey got to his feet, moving to sit in the middle of all the collapsed folks, rocking himself again and looking around, chewing his lip.

Easing back into life one step at a time

Link continued to fight, ever pressing towards the Doctor.

He swung his sword at one of the stunned shades, and finally managed to break through to her.

"He has not abandoned you, of that I am sure. He loves you - as much as you love him. Do not break that faith now, Doctor."

He kicked one to the ground, and stabbed it with the Master Sword.

"Don't break that faith."

Galen fought through the shadows till he was near Dr. Langley. "Do not listen to them. They seek to confuse you with Dark Side lies. Let us help you, Dr."

Still disoriented by the blinding effects of the flashbang, the shadowy tormentors were easy prey for the champions, and they fell in droves as the valiant warriors pressed their attack. More continued to appear, naturally, but these ones seemed fewer in number and somehow diminished in size and stature compared to the previous wraiths; they seemed to be bleeding smoke and shadow, which billowed away from them in thick gouts before disippating into nothingess, and their mocking whispers had become harsh and desperate, as if they new that they were fighting a losing battle against these (mostly) heroic harbingers of truth.

That barrier of smoky thorns still surrounded Dr. Langley, but it had grown hazy and indistinct; as Spriggan approached, the noxious black barricade seemed to flicker and shrink before his eyes. The thorns continued to spin, however, and prevented the TGS operative from getting any closer; they had done most of the groundwork, but if the red-headed scientist was to break free of the demons of her past and the horrors of her subconscious, she would have to take those final, heavy steps herself.

And she was not about to falter in that regard; slowly, as the champions shouted their words of encouragement, Aska lifted her head up to look straight ahead—and though her cheeks glistened with tears of fear and despair at the things which her inner demons had forced her to endure, her expression was not one of defeat. No, the face which stared out from within that riotous cage of creeping thorns was one of determination and defiance, and her blue eyes blazed with fury—raging, incandescent and barely restrained.

"I'm sick of your nonsense," the beautiful scientist growled, slowly rising to her feet. "I might not understand the full significance of my nightmares, but I don't have to; whether or not these are just dreams or something else, the others are right—after all we've been through together, Shin and I would never abandon each other. There might have been a time when that was in doubt, but no longer; he loves me, and I love him, and nothing will take that away from us!"

She began to push forward through the barrier of thorns, grimacing in obvious pain as they slashed into her at lightning speed and began to rip of large patches of flesh, exposing the muscle underneath and leaving her drenched in blood; but these wounds began to heal rapidly, almost as soon as they were inflicted, and she pressed on.

"If you think," she ground out, strainging to make her way through her whirling, nebulous prison, "that I'll let myself...be dominated by...memories...of a past that isn't mine...then you don't know...who I am!"

Straining with obvious effort, the red-headed scientist extended an arm through the barrier of thorns and reached out, waiting for someone to take her hand and pull her the rest of the way free. As she did so, the shadows positively lost it and began to attack the champions in a frenzy.

   "Ungrateful bitch! You don't even know who you are, and you aren't worthy of the name you bear!"   

All throughout this, Dis Baba watched, his face frozen in a satisfied smirk; one could almost hear him whispering something along the lines of "Just as planned" to himself.

As Megatron attempted to push his frenetic assailant away, he would be able to get a better look at the creature. It resembled a juvenile version of the monstrous leviathan which had attacked them at most an hour previous, scaled down until it was equal to the towering Deception in size, and it lacked the ponderous, amorphous wings of its larger kin. Whether this creature was the offspring of the first leviathan, or simply a piece which had broken off at some point during the battle and partially regenerated into a minuscule copy of its parent, was impossible to say, and indeed such considerations were moot at this point; what mattered was that it was here, it was alive, and it was most certainly violent.

The creature scrabbled and clawed at Megatron's torso with its ten hairy spider legs, its long barbed tail arching over and upwards like the sting of a scorpion before lunging forward in an attempt to impale the Emperor of Destruction through one of his optic sensors.
