"While we're waiting for Sub-Zero to start talking, let's do me."
He acquired the scroll that showed people's thoughts.
"Maybe I should tell you the characters in this story first, so not to break up the flow with explanations."
The scroll changed to show this man.◊
"Jason Hudson. Hudson was a fuckin' ice cube, but that's why I liked the bastard. He was my CIA handler, in charge of making sure I was sane and combat-ready after Vorkuta. Born March 26th, 1932, Washington D.C. A genius, and a good soldier. To quote a friend of his, "Jason has a way with words; when he speaks, you can't help but listen."."
The scroll changed again to show another man.◊
"Grigori Weaver. CIA double agent, he was trying to sabotage a rocket launch at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in the USSR. He was captured, by Kravcheko, and had an eye stabbed out. He and Hudson are close."
The picture changed again.◊ Mason's voice became tinged with sadness.
"Frank Woods. My best friend. Ex-US Marine Corps, Sergeant. Leader of my SOG team. Born March 20th, 1930, Philadelphia. Killed in action, saving my life, February 19th, 1968."
The picture changed.◊
"Chief Petty Officer Joseph Bowman. A friend, and Wood's second in command. Ex-Navy Seal. Born November 10th, 1940, Atlanta. Died before my eyes, February 19th, 1968. About half an hour before Woods."
The picture changed again.◊
Anger entered Mason's voice.
"You might be familiar with this one. Viktor Reznov. A supposed friend. I trusted him. With my life. You'll see what he did to me. Born April 20th, 1913, Saint Petersburg. Died, October 6th, 1963, Vorkuta Labor Camp."
The picture changed◊ show three people.
"Nikita Dragovich, his second-in-command Lev Kravchenko and Friedrich Steiner. Dragovich and Kravchenko, Russians, Steiner, Nazi. I killed Dragovich under the sea, I killed Steiner on Rebirth Island, and Woods sacrificed himself to kill Kravchenko."
A familiar picture came up.◊
"John F. Kennedy. An American president. Died, November 22nd, 1963, by the hands of either Lee Harvey Oswald, or me."
A final picture appeared.◊
"Fidel Castro. Leader of Cuba."
Mason paused to catch his breath.
Spriggan listened to Mason anyway, knowing that most of what he's telling is true and others were merely fiction.
Narumi glared at Mason when he mentioned the president being assassinated by either someone or him. "Or you?" Narumi asked Mason.
Rey glanced around, then stepped back, having one last long stretch before getting back into his armor, shifting his limbs to get used to the feeling, muttering. "Gordon, I don't see how you wear that suit all the time. It's well-made, but this thing just drives me crazy."
Easing back into life one step at a timeA table was smashed very close to Mason.
"To pause during a story for the audience to catch their breath is mere manners if not slightly annoying".
Icarax stood glowering at mason.
"But to interrupt a person's story because you are either bored or impaitient is to show an astounding lack of intelligence and respect, I suggest you wait your turn like everyone else is and let Sub zero have the scroll back".
"Calm down, Icarax. This is probably exactly what our captors want from us...panic and cabin fever."
Easing back into life one step at a time"I will agree as well, though I'm used to this sort of thing."

Icarax turns to Rey with a almost questioning look.
"Calm down? I was never angry, you do not want to be here if I get angry; I was merely correcting his mistake in the hopes that one day he might know his table manners".
Rey's voice held fair notes of both incredulity and sarcasm, asking a question in that way that made it clear it was not a real question. "You corrected his manners by making sure the table could never harm anyone again."
Easing back into life one step at a time"Yes, right," said Galen. "The table was certainly the most dangerous thing in the room."
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundThe Φ on the wall soon faded away. Narumi is the first to notice this. "Hm... It seems our Nomad buddy is done guarding the wall... Something's up." Narumi said.
"Interesting. So what now?"
The Doctor stares at the wall. "A storm's approaching..."
To Be Updated when I'm not Lazy"No more stormy than you...DAH-I mean, er, no more stormy than you AND I AND everybody working together as a team to...eh, screw it."
"You alright, Vezon?"
"Yeah, why? Though now that you ask, I haven't been talking very much, have I? Why is that, do you think? I mean talking's practically my trademark! I mean, I know everyone talks, but I usually talk a lot more, don't I? I should probably start talking more. Though having said that, I've said a lot just now. Guess you could call this compensating or something like that."
"Guess that can work." Spriggan shrugged.
At that moment, a portal tore itself open in the heart of the Common Room. Unlike previous ones, this one was largely black tinged with red at the edges, and every now and then one could glimpse strange dim lights that might have been stars—or possibly eyes—flickering briefly into existence within its obsidian depths. The aperture seemed to emit a strange form of white noise, a barely audible hiss of static that grated subtly on the very limits of one’s range of hearing, and occasionally the Champions would hear faint susurrations that might have been the ghostly whispers of a number of disembodied voices emanating from within.
Ravage did not seem at all troubled by these strange phenomena, and he grinned as he rose from where he had been leaning against the wall. “Right on schedule,” he fairly purred, striding confidently into the portal’s inky depths. The very instant he made contact with the aperture, he disappeared, and a dry, ghastly rasp like the death rattle of some great beast echoed forth.
The Danse Macabre CodexGalen ran through the portal, bracing himself and igniting his lightsaber.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground"Well, this is different."
Hope laid a hand on the portal, sending ripples skimming across the surface, and noted that this one seemed to be resisting him, whereas the others had tried to pull him in.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Gordon stood, and took a brief glance back at Blink.
"Are you coming?" he asked.
The thief shook her head.
"No... I've got something in mind..."
Gordon nodded, then proceeded through the portal.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""Time to rock and roll."
Spriggan said, slinging his K3 and switched to his G36C before he went inside the portal.
"Come on guys!"
Raz, who had been sitting off to the side, stepped through the portal.
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probably"Yay! More fighty times!" Vezon bounded through.
"Quite an interesting name." Spriggan said after hearing Icarax introduce himself.
"Codename Spriggan of the Trans Global Specialist Inc. Not going to divulge my real name, mind you."
