Coz Wikitalk discussion rarely are limited to one trope page. It would be akward to post an advertisement when the discussion is, say, a new banner for suggestive pages. I do agree that changes or decisions taken in Wikitalk should be placed somewhere where they are easy to find for people who are curious.
Isn't that sort of the point of https://twitter.com/tvtropesnews ? To advertise when large-scale decisions are made?
BTW, I'm a chick.I suppose, though there is no way to know when there is new activity on this thing without having to suscribe to twitter. Would be nice if it had an icon that changed when it was updated like the forums do when they have a new post.
I suggested such a thing for the top panel.
Fight smart, not fair. You can get twitter updates through an RSS reader, and there's a link on the top bar.
BTW, I'm a chick.Except alot of people don't have an RSS reader (And I sure aint gonna install one simply for this), and not everyone will check the tweet page, especially when it can go for weeks without being updated.
Google Reader. Solves all your RSS problems in one fell swoop.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Thanks for pointing this out; I hadn't noticed you could get RSS for Twitter pages.
Support stupid freshness, yo.I thought every Troper would have Google Reader....it saves a lot of time.
DumboIn fairness, I didn't realize that Google Reader could handle Twitter feeds until someone pointed it out to me.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
Because it's the place where a lot of decisions get made.
Often times I would find a big change had happened with no announcement on the wiki and then head to the forums to read about it.
Because if Trope Repair Shop and Image Pickin' get advertised, why not Wiki Talk?
