I agree with Lockon. Also, my idea is that Deoxys and Giratina would stare at each other indefinitely, Deoxys would try to mind-probe it, Giratina would do a Freak Out, Deoxys would run the heck out of there to avoid being demolished, Cynthia would spritz Giratina with water and scold it.
Please consider supporting my artwork on PatreonAlso, weren't we trying to avoid excessive grimdark? Admittedly some already written articles seem to forget this, but I digress.
On the contrary, a scientific journal trying, and failing, to explain a supernatural phenomenon is the perfect set up for a Cosmic Horror story. Hence why I was trying to set it up with the Ghastly article, and what I wanted to do with a "God exists and it's a Pokemon" Arceus article.
Keyword is excessive, Giratina and a greater extent Darkrai are probably the best places to inject a little grimdark. The precedent is already there in canon.

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Oh, so you're the reason I can't figure out what to write for the Misdreavus article...
Just because it's the perfect setup doesn't mean it will be one. Write fanfiction if that's what you're aiming for, because besides those articles what else would you do? It's not like we're the SCP Foundation with their Artifact Reports.
You wrote the Gastly Article then? Well, to be honest, the Gastly Article from my point of view is pretty much just one big mess of "I don't know" which from my perception we were trying to avoid by writing these articles in the first place. I don't want to do a Shrug or a Flip Flip of Dante, I want to make a Patchwork Fic Fan Verse of Dante.

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Revamped paragraph here:
As of this writing there is no information available on how Giratina works on a cellular level, because all attempts to understand its mechanisms have resulted in failure. An attempt to study a removed scale of Cynthia’s Giratina as a newborn melted the computer. Another attempt at understanding Giratina was enacted by a man’s Luxray and Electabuzz, attempting to get a bioelectric reading from Giratina, and after a few attempts both began to screech and immediately fainted, neither of them reviving until at least 37 hours later. With this in mind, an MRI was brought instead to a now one-week-old Giratina, but no viable information could be gathered due to Giratina having been in the middle of a game of tag with Cynthia's Togekiss, and constantly using Shadow Force to disappear and reappear in the most inopportune moments.

Just not one we need here.

TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.Neo: Ohgoddamnitnostopplease.
...
Inadverdantly, you brought me on to another idea. Is the Expanded Pokedex an in-universe scientific journal or magazine?
If so, I wanna write an article on it! We could all put blurbs in it, you know- "About the researchers" and such. And how we get the information, our sources, etc. World Building, yay!
Oh Arceus yes. Yes to this a million times.
Please consider supporting my artwork on PatreonStill need to do evolution stones and smeargle.
Which should I do first?
TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.Smeargle it is, now to get that template.
TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.And to answer your question Jane, yes that is generally what we're going for nut intentionally deviated from that because I though it would be more interesting. *shrugs*
Lockon: There's a link on the front page.

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!So, lessee... Few ideas...
- The Extended Pokedex: Should this be the title, or what? Maybe Trainer's Weekly/Monthly?
- Information mostly gained from reporters in the field, breeders and trainers who are interviewed/supply information.
- Mainly a nonprofit guide (Maybe?)
- Several columns: Pokemon of the Week/Month, Trainer's Tips (could be someone's name), articles on breeding, how to interact with your pokemon, discussions on pokemon-related devices, etc. Not actually written, just mentioned... Unless someone actually wants to do that. A sort of fluff production, if you will- The pieces shown are articles from the Pokemon of the [time] section, perhaps?
I think the main Fanon Dex be in the style of an Encyclopedia, perhaps titled Oak and Co. Encylopedia of Pokeology: the Complete Edition.
While the magazine is a great idea, but I think it would be best as a mini-project.
Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!Hey, I think I am going to do a phylogenetic study of animal Pokemon, and I'd like to get some feedback in some issues:
-Slakoth family: Sloths that develop fingers with age; or Gorillas that have claws as juveniles?
-Remoraid: Octopus larvae.
-Shroomish and Spoink lines: Marsupials with a juvenile phase not very developed; the former is symbiotic with a fungus.
-Beldum line: Animals, mechanical lifeforms, or neither?
I'd love to throw in a "Myth of the day" or something. I love mythology.
Please consider supporting my artwork on PatreonErio: Related to this, or independant?
Calamity: I've noticed that.
Hmm... Maybe the magazine and the Encyclopedia are from the same publishers, and we include an ad for the magazine?
I mainly wanted to have an 'about the researchers' bit, so we could remind people who wrote it.

Related or unrelated, however you want. If you want it in, it is in; if out, it is out, but I'm doing it! :P
Pokemon completely defy Linnaean genetics. Their metamorphosis from one stage to the next frequently break the bounds of phyla.
Pokemon as a whole are like extremely complex protists, featuring traits from many different kingdoms of life.
On the magazine: I'd like to contribute, I loooooooooove me some fluff.

TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.I'd say maybe about one cover page saying that this particular issue is one to list and describe the researchers for this project, whatever we decide to call it. Then other pages that describe the researcher, like "Field of Study" and "Style of Writing" et al.

Because this isn't a cosmic horror story, it's a scientific journal, that's why.
