While the overall message here is that they both escalated the situation past norm, Faye was supposed to do a thorough check and did make a mistake during that. They got lucky that Bubbles got suspicious of that spot and decided to double check.
Maybe I'm misinterpreting how obvious the defect was to Bubbles; my assumption is that she would have noticed the misaligned myomers as soon as she started attaching them, if she hadn't seen the warpage before that point. If this is something that either of them could have missed if they both were less diligent, Bubbles' reaction makes more sense.
Generally you shouldn't be making decisions with anything but your brain.
So don't listen to your gut, your heart (contrary to what so much media tells you), or your sex organs.
Disgusted, but not surprisedSide note, getting eaten by hyenas is an utterly horrible way to die. They have a tendency to not wait for their prey to actually die before they start eating and they like to go for the guts first.
A consequence of not having the natural features that make it easier to kill prey quickly that big cats do while having natural features that make it easier to start eating the prey while it's still alive and squirming (namely sharper flesh-tearing canine teeth).
BTW, being eaten by hyenas is particularly nasty since they go for the softest fleshiest bits first. Think about what exactly are the softest and fleshiest bits on your person.

Disgusted, but not surprisedUgh...that reminds me of a sequence in Cerebus the Aardvark where the comic's version of Ernest Hemingway's last wife was reading an excerpt from one of his safari diaries in which hyenas had emasculated a rhino and were toying with it as it bled to death.

Hyenas generally don't toy with their prey like cats or orcas, they just don't give a shit if it suffers or not.
Bad wording on my part, harrying it would've been more appropriate.

I wasn't correcting you, it was just a tidbit I was adding. Plus, wasn't the guy who wrote Cerebus a nutjob?
More than a tad. As our own entry on the series notes, you can see the comic as an example of how a singular vision to take you to greatness, to madness, or sometimes both.
Melon's short hair is long now? That's not how these things normally go.
Freshly grown robot hair defaults to long because there's no point in not using the whole bucket of the solution, and then they can cut it however they like.
Melon would probably catch it on fire or dip into caustic chemicals in short order.
Also, yes, they're not replacing the eye to match her iris colors. It suits her more this way, really.
Looks like the long hair stays.
And of course it's ahoge that completes Melon's look.
I assure you, I'm a completely trustworthy person.Y'all think Jeph wrote this story specifically to address teh accusation he keeps giving the girls ImportantHaircuts?

Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youAs bad as that cereal's name is, it is true that a lot of cereal has too much sugar.
Seriously, you might as well just give the kids a pack of Oreo cookies for breakfast.

Disgusted, but not surprisedAt least those don't taste like sweetened cardboard.
But Bubbles spotted the problem easily. She didn't need Faye to check it for her. The practical result is identical. She blew up at Faye over essentially nothing.
